Emerson smiled as Ever made her way over and -along with the rest of his table- greeted her excitedly. It didn’t take him any time at all to realize Cora was with her and he was sure to give her a flirtatious yet warm smile as he caught her eye. He couldn’t help but smile as she flattered him and his friends. She obviously didn’t know how big of a deal she was already becoming in the world of theatre. He admired her humility. Reaching to shake her hand, he nodded. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Cora. I saw your performance in Hairspray. It was fantastic.”
Anaks giggled, nudging Emerson. “He’ll definitely be with us when we go, Xander. But, it won’t be dragging. I’m dying to see this new cast.” As Anaks always did with new friends, she stood and walked over to greet Cora with a welcoming hug. “I can’t wait to hear you sing tonight.”
The group listened as the producer made his way over to Cora to give her the news. He desperately wished there was something he could do. It quite angered him that she was being eliminated simply because Beast was a no-show. Hearing Ever mention his name, he looked over and sat up a bit straighter. “Oh… I’d love to. I don’t know if I can pull it off since I haven’t practiced. But, I’ll give it a shot… That is, if Cora is okay with it.”
Looking up at Emerson, she bit down on her lip and smiled softly. She didn’t know he was flirting with her or anything like that and Cora certainly didn’t know that she was starting to be a big deal around here. “Oh thank you.” She said blushing a little and biting down on her lip.
Looking up at Anaks a she came over, Cora gave her a warm smile and hugged her, surprised by how welcoming they all were. “Thank you, i’m really looking forward to seeing you too, your performances are always flawless.”
Why did Ever have to suggest this? She could feel her cheeks turning very red right now. The producer smiled. “Cora can go over the song with you and the steps and well the solo song we’ll see about maybe getting it cut and adding in Gaston’s song instead so that you don’t have to worry about that.” Looking over at Emerson she smiled softly. “I’m fine with it, as long as you are.” She replied giving him a small smile feeling rather nervous to be dancing and singing with him.

Matt couldn’t wipe the smile from his face as he watched his bride emerging from down the aisle. His heart was racing. He worried she might be making it beat too fast and that there was a risk he’d faint during the wedding. Swallowing the fear away, he remained focused on the beauty in front of him. She was so stunning. Shaking his head in awe, he allowed his mind to ignore the looks of their guests and mouth a simple, heartfelt message to her. You are beautiful.
Looking up at Matt, she could feel her heart pounding. As she reached him, looking at him she swallowed hard and grinned. “You look handsome.” She mouthed back grinning as she did. Taking his hand, she moved to get ready to get married, excited by the prospect.
Scrolling through the plethora of tracks listed in his library in Amazon music, Mercer took a deep breath. He needed this. He needed a breather. He needed to decompress and he knew the best way to make that happen was to dance. He hadn’t booked this studio ahead of time. But, no one was inside it when he arrived. So, he figured it wasn’t a huge deal.
Finally settling on Catch Hell Blues by The White Stripes, Mercer placed his phone down on the ground and allowed the music to blast through the speakers. He closed his eyes and allowed himself to get lost.
Mercer had been dancing since he was five. His mom had originally put him in it to give himself something to kill his energy so he’d sleep at nigh.. And it worked. But, she didn’t think it would stick for as long as it had. He was still taking classes when he could, he was still choreographing.. he was passionate. He wanted to choreography professionally. But, he was finding himself in a lull and without any professional gigs.
Just as he reached the climax of the song and really started feeling himself disappearing with the movement and the melody, he heard the door to the studio creak open. Instantly ripped out of his calming haze, he turned to look who was invading on him. However, what was first an invasion quickly turned into a warm welcome at the sight of the beauty in front of him. “Hello.” He smirked before running to turn his music down. “Oh. I’m sorry. Did you have the studio blocked for practice time?”
Elena had escaped from her handler, she knew it wasn’t a good thing. But she wanted to explore the dance studio that was being dedicated to her late grandmother. Pushing a piece of hair out of her face, she made her way through the halls until she heard music coming one of the rooms, walking quickly to the door, she stopped and watched the man as he danced around he was a really amazing dancer, she felt her breath being taken away as she watched him for a few minutes.
“Hi.” She replied as he noticed her. “What? No, I was just looking around and I heard the music and I wanted to see who was in here.” She explained glancing up at him with a small smile spreading across his face.
Sitting in the full audience of the New York Broadway theater, Tommy cleared his throat and adjusted in his seat, looking through the Playbill he’d been handed at his entry. It was intermission. Thus far, he was immensely impressed. It was a beautiful show, and gave him plenty of inspiration for writing.
Tommy loved attending plays and musicals to gain more inspiration for his own stories. Though he hadn’t yet gotten the courage to dabble in play writing, it was a dream he’d had for years. He wanted to create a play that would be transcendent.. something that would shake the foundation of his audiences. But, for now, that was just a lost vision in his head. He figured he’d better finish his novel first.
Plays were also a good way to get himself away from complete isolation. He’d been living in a tiny loft in Queens for two months, attempting to write his first novel and send it off to potential publishers. But, he’d been finding that he was getting in his own way. He was writing out of fear lately.
After the show, Tommy found that was unable to stop thinking about a specific actress in the show. She was beautiful, exquisite, and he couldn’t help but feel she was something out a storybook long ago stolen and waiting to be found. Making his way to the backstage door, he wondered if he should try to get through.. He did know one cast member, of course. So, he could use his good friend as an excuse to get back to the dressing rooms. Cracking his knuckles nervously as he pondered his options, he took one step towards the door in an attempt to challenge his own fear when the door swung open and he smacked straight into a beautiful woman as she walked out. Inhaling sharply in hopes that he hadn’t hurt her, he backed away and reached out. “Oh my God! I am so sorry. I assure you I don’t often trample people as if they don’t exist. That only happens when I’m drunk or exceedingly nervous.” Noticing that it was her, he swallowed and straightened his posture, embarrassment racing to redden his cheeks. “The latter happens to be my current state, I’m afraid.”
This was her dream job, Ever couldn’t believe she as now on her second musical, her first had been Wicked with Anaks, Cece and Emerson, now she was in into the woods and she loved every minute of it. She’d made friend with a girl named Cora who had been in Hairspray previous to this as Amber and now they had both managed to get into the same musical and were playing great roles. She was the baker’s wife and Cora was Cinderella. Ever was walking on cloud nine, she was incredibly happy.
Making her way out of her dressing room and off to find Cora, she let out a yelp as a door opened in her face and she got smashed with a door. “Fuck!” She uttered covering her nose. “Shit.” She muttered, before looking up at the man in front of her, her mouth falling open slightly. “No, it’s fine, don’t worry about it. Really. I’m not bleeding so that is the main thing.” She said laughing softly. “Well I think that people who go to the theater drunk have problems, so i’m glad you’re not drunk.”
Walking into the lavish yet welcoming studio house owned by Unbroken Records, Jason couldn’t help but smile to himself as he wondered how he’d gotten so lucky to have his dream job before the age of 25. He knew exactly how.. Cordelia Parker. After meeting her during a college internship, she’d been impressed enough with him to introduce him to her father and her husband, the two other executives of Unbroken Records. From there, he’d earned another internship (this time paid), which grew into a part-time position as a sound engineer and now a full-time position as both a sound engineer and a producer’s assistant.
Walking into Studio B, cleverly lit with a logo of The Flash, Jason took a sip of his Starbucks latte and turned the lights on before beginning the set up for the day. He was a bit anxious this morning - more so than usual, at least. Sean and Cordelia had decided to give him a shot at producing a track on his own. Not only were they both swamped for the day with interviews for each of their separate projects. But, Cordelia had an ultrasound that Sean was not willing to miss. Therefore, they’d thought it the perfect opportunity to test out what Jason had learned.
Iris Urquhart. Jason looked at the line-up for today’s artists. Iris was the first up. He knew who she was. But, he’d been so busy since the start of her career that he didn’t know a plethora of information about her. Guessing he should familiarize himself with her sound, he searched her up on Amazon Music and cast the first track to play through the studio speakers. Getting into the beat, he smirked, feeling more comfortable with how the two of them might connect and make a track that both she and their shared bosses would be proud of.
He continued listening and setting up for the session. Before he knew it, the clock hit 10:05 AM and Iris walked into the studio. Smiling at her from inside the booth - where he was setting up the mic - he chuckled with a bit of embarrassment as she realized her own music was playing.
Walking back out to the sound engineering room, he offered his hand for her to shake before turning the music down. “Awkward. Sorry.” He scoffed, running his fingers through his hair. “I’m not a stalker, I promise. I just like to get into the groove of someone’s sound before I work with them, y’know? Makes the day go smoother, I find.” He cleared his throat, taking note of how beautifully her platinum blonde hair fell over her face. “Jason.. My name’s Jason.”
Studio days, while Iris loved them. They were never that fun unless AJ was with her, she could always rely on him to give her the honest truth about her songs and if he didn’t like it she didn’t put it on her album and so far all the songs he’d liked Sean liked too and so it was a win win because her albums always sounded amazing. Pushing a piece of hair out of her face, she sat in her car drumming on the wheel as she listened to Autumn’s new song. Her new song was a sound that Iris knew she wanted for hers, it was sort of sexy and that was what she wanted. She was now twenty one and after her last album she wanted to prove she grew up, but not in a Brittney way, in an artist way.
Parking in her usual spot, Iris climbed out of her car and grabbed her notebook full of songs, before heading toward the studio. Waving at the guard, he let her in and she made her way into the room where she’d be recording today. Stopping as she heard as she heard the song she wrote for AJ playing, count me in. It was a great song, but it really wasn’t the sort of sound she wanted anymore. She knew she wasn’t working with Sean today and honestly that made her nervous she wanted to consult him on her ideas and him not being here well that meant she would have to do some demos and show him to have him rip them apart.
She hated that.
The moment her eyes landed on the guy’s face she suddenly didn’t care anymore, he was good looking and well if Sean picked apart her work it was worth it cause she’d get to spend time with this guy. “No it’s cool.” She said smiling and shaking his hand. “I know, you wouldn’t believe the amount of producers that do that actually.” She explained with a smile. “But you know if you want to listen to my sound, i’d recommend this.” Pulling up youtube, she opened her and AJ’s page and put on ‘glowing in the dark’. “That first album was done when I was eighteen, I love it, but it’s not really the sound I want for this one.” She explained. “Iris, pleasure to meet you Jason.”
In the workplace, Valentina had two modes: funny, entertaining teacher and strict but gentle cheerleading coach. There was something about Valentina that just got it. She knew how to connect with teenagers without being walked on. She knew how to get their respect and their love. Valentina loved her job, and she loved her girls. She loved her cheerleaders. When they were in her care during grueling practices and on trips to competitions, they were her responsibility. They were her children until she passed them back to their parents. That’s how seriously she took her job.
So, needless to say, Valentina hated injuries. Part of the reason she was so hard on her cheerleaders with conditioning and health regulations was to avoid injuries. She didn’t want anyone excluded from the rewards they deserved because an avoidable mistake. However, she also knew that sometimes, it just happened. Not all accidents were always avoidable. So, when a team member’s shoe dragged a little too long during a back handspring and twisted her ankle, Valentina knew she had to be the one to escort her to ER. Leaving the team captain in charge of the rest of practice, she helped Lindsay out to her car, called the girl’s mother to alert her to meet them at the nearest hospital, and headed out.
Now, nearly an hour and a half later, Valentina and Lindsay were sitting in a hospital room together, waiting for X-ray results on the sixteen-year-old’s ankle. Trying to keep the mood light and Lindsay’s mind off the pain, Valentina obnoxiously danced to the newest Bruno Mars album, the two often erupting in laughter.
As Valentina finished off a song with a bow, she heard Lindsay’s applause suddenly come to a stop and stood up straight, looking to her left. Her heart dropped into her stomach as she saw the handsome ER doctor in front of her, a wide smile on his face. He’d obviously seen the tail end of her performance. Clearing her throat and checking to make sure her hair was still intact, she offered him her hand. “Sorry.. please don’t kick me out. I’m her coach and if her mother comes here and has to be told why I left her daughter alone at the emergency room, I’ll get into a lot of trouble.” She giggled, desperately hoping he wasn’t too upset by her behavior.
Stuart loved his job, he’d gotten inspired by His friend Sage’s father who had become a doctor. He’d always admired Nate and decided that he’d follow that path. He’d decided he wanted to work in the ER like their friend Liam, the ER was challenging and it was always something new and he enjoyed that. He’d arrived at work after an awful dinner with his girlfriends family, he knew they didn’t like him and it made things awkward. Sage had been telling him to break up with her for a long time and he was starting to think she was right.
“Sixteen year old in room one.” The other doctor explained, waiting for her X-ray results. The woman in there is hot! His friend told him as he nudged him. “I’ll see for myself.” He commented before saying by to his friend as he clocked out and left. Stu pushed a piece of hair out of his face and then made his way to go and start rounds.
“Stuart the results are here.” Nodding he took the results and walked into the room. Stopping as he watched some woman dance around the room. Clearing his throat, he walked in and opened the file. “It’s quite alright, you need something to entertain yourselves.” He pulled out an X-ray and looked. “Good news, it’s not broken. It looks like a bad sprain. Keep off of it make sure you ice it and it should be better in a couple of days.”
Walking through the dark hall, backstage at the Forum arena, Santana looked at the numerous signs and banners flaunting the evening’s VMA ceremony. Being led to the wings of the stage before her performance, she felt eerily calm. She shouldn’t have, seeing as she was about to perform in front of an audience of thousands of people and cameras that would broadcast her around the world. She was still new at this. There was no way that - on a normal day - Santana Minerva Vicario wouldn’t be visibly shaking. But, one thing might’ve been distracting her.
Her celebrity crush was introducing her. Never in a million years would she have dreamed that the man of her dreams would even know she existed, let alone speak her name. If only she could get him to speak it in person. She wondered if he’d be at Justin Parker’s after party tonight. Surely not, she thought, realizing she wouldn’t be that lucky.
As the stage manager cued that she had 15 seconds to get into place on the stage, she took a deep breath and walked to her position, listening to Tate’s final introductory words. He said it. Santana Vicario. The claps and excited cheers from the audience rang in her ears. The music started and Santana had no choice but to forget the past thirty seconds and wow the crowd.
After the end of the ceremony, Santana headed to Justin’s house in her 2010 Honda Civic with a Sprite in her hand and Anaks Milano’s debut album playing through her sound system. Laughing at herself as she waited in the traffic of blinged out limousines and wealthy stars, she realized just how lame she was. Shrugging it off, she hummed along to the classic, older tune that played and made her way. Arriving at the party, she put her heels back on her feet - having taken them off both to drive and to give her feet a break - and made her way to the entrance. Smiling as she saw the warm glow of the house lights, she enjoyed the silence. She knew there would be plenty of people there. But, it wasn’t a rager-type of party. Justin didn’t do that and neither did the people he associated with. Instead, the after parties included board games, plenty of yummy foods and desserts he and his wife had made, memories, stories, and lots of laughs.
Knocking on the door, she smiled as Justin’s wife opened the door and welcomed her in. As she walked in, she laughed at the sound of her label-mates and friends cheering her arrival… and to her surprise… there he sat. Tate rested against the large couch, seated next to his brother, Jason. Jason had helped Sean de los Santos produce some of Santana’s latest album. That was the only connection she had to Tate at all. She’d never told Jason about her crush on his brother. But, she worried that the blush on her face as she met eyes with him and his thousand-watt smile could be seen by everyone around.
Tate didn’t know why he was here if he was honest, it was awkward not his sort of thing at all. He was an actor and wasn’t in any sort of music. While Justin was a great guy and had helped him with his drug addiction, he still wasn’t used to this sort of thing anymore. Pushing a hand through his hair, thankfully his brother was here to keep him company. “I’m going for a smoke.” He was about to get up when the door went and in walked Santana. He’d had a crush on her for some time, he’d been so jealous finding out his brother worked with her. “Hi.” He said giving her a bright smile. “Great performance.”
Cora didn’t know why she thought that Emerson wouldn’t be here, she didn’t know why she assumed he wouldn’t be. But now that she knew who he was, she was even more nervous about the whole thing. A week of practises and then the night itself. He was going to hear her sing over and over and that made her feel nervous as hell!
“Hey, Cora. You ok? You look pale.” Looking at Ever, Cora smiled. “I’m fine, just nervous.” She replied chuckling. “Well come on, i want to introduce you to Anaks and Xander.” Cora physically froze at this, they wanted her to meet theatre royalty? No, she couldn’t do that. “No, I have to go warm up.” Before she could say anything else Ever has linked arms with Cora and dragged her over. They’d met when they did into the woods together and became good friends.
“Hey guys.” Ever said hugging Anaks, Xander, Cece, And Emerson. “It’s good to see you all, I dont think you guys have met Cora, have you?” Cora waved awkwardly. “I’m sorry I have to say this but I saw you guys opening night of Wicked and you guys were amazing, and you were fantastic in Hamilton.” Cora said gushing feeling her cheeks flushing. “Sorry I’m just a big fan.” She explained. Xander grinned, glancing at the others. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Cora, you were great in Hairspay and into the woods. I heard you’re going to be in beauty and the beast next. I look forward to seeing it, no doubt Emerson will drag us, right Anaks?”
Xander said looking at Anaks who was busy talking to Cece and Ever. Before anything else could be said Xander was called to do the opening number. “It was a pleasure to meet you.” She said as Xander excused himself. “What are you singing Cora?” Cece questioned. “On the steps of the palace, plus Belle and something there.”
However before anyone was able to comment the producer of Beauty and the Beast ran over. “Cora, I’m afraid to say we no longer have a Beast the songs won’t be sung.” Cora frowned softly, it looked as if she wouldn’t be performing much. “What about Emerson?” Ever suddenly asked. “He’s got the perfect voice for Beast.”
Evelyn could feel her heart pounding as she stood with her best friend and also Matt’s sister and his father Eli. They’d grown close as she’d spent time with the family and now he was like a father to her. “You ready?” One of them asked looking at her, Evelyn nodded softly. “Thank you for walking me down the aisle. My brother is gutted he couldn’t be here.” Hugging Eli tightly she smiled softly and let him adjust her vail before taking his arm.
She knew once she got to Matt she would be alright, but she was very nervous. Especially because this morning she’d discovered she was pregnant, she was going to tell Matt tonight when they had a moment alone. She’d planned to give him the test wrapped up as a gift and then watch him as he opened it. Thinking about the baby stopped her from focusing until Eli nudged her.
Snapping out of it she realised she needed to walk. “Here we go.” She whispered and then stepped into view. Seeing him ahead, she focused on him with a smile as she walked down with Eli at her side.
It was today, it was their big day. They were finally getting married and Evelyn could feel her heart pounding heavily in her chest. She was so nervous and excited, she couldn’t wait to see Matt as they walked down the aisle. “Here, eat.” Vi said placing a plate of pancakes in front of her. “I don’t want to eat, i’m far too nervous.” She replied. The problem was she was nervous and also a little heartbroken, her parents didn’t approve of her marrying Matt, they didn’t like him one bit. But that was fine with her. If they didn’t approve of him they’d never see her again because she loved him and they were going to get married and have babies.
Taking a deep breath, she sat down in front of a mirror as her hair and makeup was done. She’d rather face a thousand surgeries than deal with this, she was shaking and she could feel it. Taking a deep breath she closed her eyes for a moment. Once she was ready she walked into the room and smiled. “So, let get me married then hey.”
Taking a deep breath as she made her way into the theater, Cora took a deep breath she was feeling really nervous. It was her first time performing and with such a big show filled with stars performing different songs from different shows she could feel herself shaking. Making her way over to a few people she knew, she grinned and started to talk to them, trying to ignore what her friend dubbed as the mean girls.
The mean girls were a group that were doing big songs from the big musicals, the type that she wasn’t really brought in to sing. The type of girl that fawned over the men and got their attention. Cora had two songs one from Sweeney Todd and one from Into the woods, she was nervous about performing but it didn’t bother her the fact that she’d be singing songs that a few people had said were sub par compared to the likes of Les Mis, Phantom, Cats and the like.
She’d desperately wanted to sing On my own from Les Mis, but sadly someone else got it, even though she in her opinion had been the better singer. Glancing around, she noticed a handsome guy walk in and felt her jaw drop. It was Emerson, she had seen him perform a few times and admittedly had a massive crush on him. Looking away she could feel her cheeks flushing slightly. He was far too cute, but of course the ladies were all over him.
Trying to not look at the ladies as they surrounded him, Cora pushed her hand through her hair rolling her eyes at the ladies were just like vultures.
Stepping out to the back area surrounding the quaint house she shared with her mother, Silvie hummed a playful tune as she hung the clothes she’d just finished washing onto the line. Noticing a figure across the street, she looked in their direction. It was Nate. He was easily the most handsome young man in Salem. Although Silvie hadn’t spent as much time with him as the other girls, she wasn’t blind to the appeal. Catching his eye, she flashed him a smile before remembering she wasn’t the type of girl he’d appreciate receiving adoration from. Hiding behind the shirt she’d just hoisted, the petite woman tucked her unkempt dark brown locks behind her ear.
Nathaniel Moore was one of the most eligible bachelors in all of Salem, his brother had been the other, however Matthew was now married to a beautiful woman, so it was now just Nate. While his parents had been suggesting for quite some time he find a woman and marry her, he’d yet to find someone who sparked his interest. Making his way through the town, he stopped as he saw Silvie, he found her beautiful, enchanting even, but he didn’t dare talk to her. Slowly, he made his way across the street, feeling he needed to get over this fear. “Good morning.” He said giving her a gentle smile.
