Hi! My name is Stephanie, many of you know me as Neff. I have been blessed to be living in recovery since October 9, 2016. Many of you knew my husband Justin or know of our story. The story of why I created Hope Dealers BTC to honor my husband’s memory. To be able to live in recovery with a support system that works for me. On December 9th, 2020 after many stressful conversations where I was talked over, disrespected and my perspective being disregarded, I made the difficult choice to resign from my organization. My support group that has been being treated more like a business and failing at not only supporting our community, but our own volunteers. The three other board members were meeting and preparing for meetings leaving me out. I have auditory processing disorder which they are all aware of so they were intentionally putting me at a disadvantage by not sharing agendas with me to be prepared for. Hope Dealers BTC Inc. had 14 volunteers that held official titles within our organization. Nine who resigned with me due to the way the board of directors that was left has been treating Hope Dealers BTC Inc. Yesterday the majority of us including myself, my mother-in-law, my son were deleted and blocked from the support group on Facebook I created. Let me repeat that again. FOR NO REASON the current board members of the group that was created to HONOR my husband DELETED his MOTHER and SON. Leaving them in tears. As well as myself and many other volunteers and title holders who have put their blood, swear and tears into this organization. After meeting with a group of 15 community leaders, supporters and stakeholders, I have decided that taking back ownership of Hope Dealers is not only the right thing to do- but is in the best interest of the safety and care of our clients and the community we serve. I made my intention known to the Board of Directors with the letter posted below, co-signed by a group of individuals all ready and willing to join the leadership of the NEW direction of Hope Dealers, well maintaining our main purpose, support.
