Cursed | Kovu & Fiona
She certainly had spunk. A snort came out of him as he looked down at her and watched as she came closer. Sitting up a little and crossing his arms over his bare chest he cocked his head a little more as he huffed. “Right,” Kovu said, his sarcastic tone growing as he spoke, “walking around at night when predators are known to hunt isn’t a stupid move. My bad.” Of course he would know if it was or wasn’t. He was truly a lion after all, even if he didn’t look like it right then. He rolled his green eyes as she asked him why he was out there. “Why do you think I’m up in this tree and not down there?” Really was it that hard of a concept to think about?
An eyebrow of his rose when she mentioned he wasn’t part of her group. There were other humans here besides her? He couldn’t see Simba being too happy with that. Humans meant danger even for the pride. After what had happened between Simba and his “mother” he didn’t think the older male wanted to deal with another threat so soon. “No, I’m not.” Kovu might as well try to get her, and hopefully these others, away from the pride. He had Vitani to worry about as well but he knew for the time being she was at least safe. “Well aren’t you nice. Asking for someone’s name before giving your own.” Regardless, he pushed himself off of the tree branch he had managed to get on and landed cat like on the ground.
Standing up and pushing back some of his long shaggy hair he said, “Name’s Kovu if you must know. And who are you?”
Oh boy this guy had a mouth on him – that was certain. The blonde crossed her arms over her chest, cocked her head to the side and watched the shaggy haired boy that was up on the tree. “Well I’m careful.” She shrugged her shoulders and dropped her arms by her sides. What was she supposed to do – stay in her tent all night? She could have waited in that tent, and an animal could have come in and hurt her when she wasn’t prepared --- or she could be out here and taking her chances on seeing the beautiful surroundings… and get an animal kill her. It was a better deal where Fiona was concerned. “Why would I give you my name when I don’t even know if I trust you?” She didn’t know him --- he came out practically insulting her. He was up on a tree defending himself but didn’t offer to pull her up and protect her. Yeah, she trusted him… enough to make sure she got his name before offering her own. “Okay, well Kovu,” She mumbled --- she supposed that was his real name; she guessed she would trust him enough. “I’m just gonna call you Scruffy anyway;” She walked closer to him, but kept her distance – he could have been armed after all. Although looking at him and his lack of attire, it was unlikely. “Fiona;” She tilted her head. The vest top that she wore at least covered most of her body --- but it was still warm. It covered what she need to cover, but let her shoulders and arms stay out in this dark reddish brown night. “Fiona’s my name,” She rolled her blue eyes; “Believe me or not, Scruffy – but I’m not here to hurt anyone.” Not when the things out here in these lands could easily hurt her without a second thought.
Cursed | Kovu & Fiona
His green eyes followed her as she continued to walk under him. Watching her he tried to figure out why exactly she was there but nothing came to him. Humans had never come into the Pridelands before to his knowledge. Already Kovu was curious by her presence but that only seemed to heighten it more. That and he felt a bit drawn to her and he couldn’t put his paw on why. The only time he had felt such a thing was when he had met Kiara but now that was in the past.
Hearing her mutter, he finally decided to make his presence known. He might as well seeing that she could easily end up as someone’s late night snack with the way she was loudly moving about. Pushing himself up into a sitting position he eyed her one more time before cocking his head to the side and spoke in a voice loud enough for her to hear him but soft enough to not attract any attention from the animals that could be lurking about. “Hey, you might want to keep it down since you made the idiotic mistake of coming out during the night,” Kovu said, his usual sarcastic tone coming out. “Unless you want to let every leopard or lion in the area know you’re here, in which case be my guest on continuing. Just don’t bring them here if you do.” Yeah he wasn’t about to risk his safety because of her mistake.
"What are you doing out here anyways?"
The blonde could have sworn that she had heard something – a voice of sorts. It seemed almost impossible, if she was being honest, that there would have been someone else out here… unless they were part of the exhibition that she had come on. Fiona turned around trying to find the source of the sound --- it couldn’t have been another person. idiotic mistake. Fiona looked at the scruffy haired boy and glared; “I’m not an idiot,” Her voice was hushed and her hands tightened into fists. Fiona knew that she wasn’t as smart as, per say her older sister Lottie, but she was still clever. You would have to be – being raised by parents like hers. The blonde was careful where she went and began to make her way towards the man that had stopped to insult her. “I’m just getting to know the face,” She answered as she moved her hands to her hips and stared. “Shouldn’t I be asking you that question?” Why the fuck was a boy out here on his own – surrounded by these ‘leopards’ and ‘lions?’ He could easily get himself torn to shreds too if he wasn’t careful! “You’re not part of my group.” And if he was then she certainly hadn’t seen him before. The humans had to deal with whatever was sending the world out of whack here and well, it wasn’t gonna be this wiseass was it? “Who are you anyway?”
Cursed | Kovu & Fiona
Nights were terrible. More terrible now then when Simba forbid him from sleeping with the rest of the pride. The cold didn’t never really bothered him now because of it. But now he had to deal with pain and then being in a form he had no desire to be in. Kovu didn’t even know which one of those was worse. The pain was starting to become tolerable actually. But being in this form alone on the pridelands was not ideal.
Trying to get more comfortable on the tree branch he climbed up to, Kovu sighed as he looked up at the night sky through the tree branches. Most of his nights know were spent star gazing. He had trouble sleeping in this new form and he couldn’t hunt. So any sleeping he did was during the day, which wasn’t unusual for him, but he was also forced to hunt during the day. That was hard to do by himself. He was strong and fast but he didn’t have much success under the heat of the sun. His coat didn’t exactly help repel heat and him getting tired.
His stomach grumbled, wanting him to feed it, and he had to once get try and get comfortable to forget about it. But Kovu paused in his moving when he heard something below him. Automatically his thoughts went to it being a hyena or a leopard. Laying as flat as he could on the branch to try and hide himself as best as he could. Looking down he was surprised when he didn’t see another predator but another human. He didn’t think it was much better but given that he was also a human right then it was better then coming across another predator and getting eaten. Staying on the branch he tried to figure out why the human was even walking about.
This was her first job. It was odd really to think that all these years on Fiona would begin to do the same job that her father, and oldest siblings did. This was different though, honestly, Fiona had no idea what she was doing. This was her first time with a partner, the first time with a techie back home --- and the first time without Adam or Maggie supervising her. What was even worse; this was the first time she wasn't working in Canada or America. She was working in Africa And boy was it hot. Moving her hand the blonde ran her hand over her forehead. She couldn't sleep because of the heat. Fiona had a feeling if her partner had noticed her gone that all Hell would get lose. They would be worried about her – the fact she was out where the animals were roaming; but Fiona didn't mind. She was actually rather brave, braver than people would believe of her. They saw her and her blonde curls and just assumed that she was ditzy. Maggie had hated it too; they actually looked very alike; but what was worse –-- was at least Maggie was a tomboy with a tomboyish nature. Fiona, well Fiona was not. “Shit,” She mumbled as she looked at her foot when she kicked a large stone when not watching where she was going. Sighing, she kicked a rock next to it aside and looked around the large open space of nothingness. Well, there were trees and no doubt animals; but Fiona just felt like she was the only thing, person, whatever around. At least it was somewhat quiet. She liked the peacefulness. The blonde moved her arms behind her and held onto each hand as her hair fanned out in the slight night breeze. At least she would get the chance to see what Africa was like. No one would be looking for whatever this abnormal activity was until morning.

"Fi, I swear I had no idea she was here."
"I could warn you that I have four big brothers."
"But I think Maggie's scarier than them."
"I guess that explains why you warned me about the ex."
"Well, seeing how I was lion when this all happened I don’t think the terms "good looking guy" would really fit into this."
"Sorry, being serious again. Yeah, I am telling you this because I wish to stay with you. Really, the life of a rogue isn’t a fun one and I don’t wish to go back to my pride…Nor do I think I’d be welcomed again."
"There's no need to sass me," She quirked her brow before rolling her eyes. "I mean if you're a good looking guy - I guess you'd be a good looking lion, okay?"
"But... well you're welcome with me. Like... I don't think I'd let you leave me without a fight --- regardless of what people say about me. I'm not a weak or meek little girl. I might be the youngest but I am one of the strongest. I love you and my family will love you too, if they don't already."
"No! No I didn’t come here to tell you that, I promise."
"I left my pride because I didn’t feel like I belonged there, even with her. I highly doubt I would even be accepted back. But, honestly, I don’t want to go back because of you. I just thought…That you might as well know since keeping it a secret didn’t feel right either."
"Did you think that I would be upset... I mean... I'm not surprised? You're a good looking guy. I couldn't imagine that you'd have been single all your life before you met me."
"I... just hope that you're telling me that you feel like you belong here with me. Because I know that although I've never been in a relationship before that i do feel like I belong with you."
"Well…I…I’ve been in love before and I had a girlfriend…"
"And...?"
"You've come to tell me that you realise you still love her and you wanna break up with me?"
"You…Remember when I said that I wasn’t the best when it came to love, right?"
"Yeah?"
"Something I should have mentioned sooner than now?"
"... and now I'm not sure if I wanna hear this?"
"What is it?"
"Hey, Goldie Locks…Can we talk?"
"... Depends on what you wanna talk about?"
*casually begins to follow her around everywhere, hiding in bushes*
"Which big brother do I call about having a stalker?"
"Maybe Junior."
*not stalking JUST MAKING SURE KOVU DOESN’T GET NEAR*
