I have the really unpopular opinion that Anakin‘s fear of Padme dying in childbirth is reasonable. Yes, Star Wars has great technology advances but there’s two things to consider. First, Anakin grew up a slave. Yes, he’s been freed from years but that is something that will stick with you for the rest of your life; do you think slave owners gave their slaves the best or even good treatment when one was ill or pregnant? I doubt they did and that would be something Anakin likely would witness. So there‘s a chance Anakin knew a slave that could have died from childbirth.

Second, Padme is an important political figure in war. There is a good possibility of her being kidnapped and during that time being denied a doctor during pregnancy. And before anyone says oh, Padme couldn’t be kidnapped (again) I would like to remind you just how Revenge of the Sith opens up: the most important political figure in the Republic is being rescued by Obi-Wan and Anakin after he was kidnapped by Dooku and Grevious. Yes, Dooku dies but Grevious and other Separatists are still out there.

Now add in how Anakin’s visions of his mother dying became true...

Anakin’s fear of losing Padme makes sense.

It is actually a good thing that he didn’t stay a beast.

For one, it wasn’t Belle’s reward but his. I mean?? He didn’t want to be a beast and since he “learned his lesson/is loved” or whatever, by all means he should be able to be a prince/human again. 

Besides, Human!Beast isn’t ugly. That long hair is especially a very nice look for him (Not even in the original Disney version, unpopular opinion apparently but 🤷‍♀️.) 

Also?? He would’ve been fucking miserable if he remained a beast. Even with Belle’s love, I don’t think he could’ve accepted anything about that state. Not to mention the poor servants probably would’ve been stuck as furniture as well but that goes without saying.

I can’t stop thinking about how Jacob would definitely enter your rooms first thing in the morning and gently dismiss your ladies and insist that he helps you get dressed because you are his wife now, and isn’t that what husbands do? And sure, he gets confused with all the laces and layers, and he’s still trying to figure out how corsets work (there is some swearing), but he’s adamant that he’s going to be the one to do it, his face fixed in concentration, and you spend that first morning laughing and getting distracted while he works
