The Uncle joke 💀💀💀
This screenshot remains a mystery. (Liam posted the text exchange between Noel and Anais on 20 April 2018, then deleted it.)
Who sent it to Liam, and why he posted it a year later, remain unknown.
2017 to 2019 was such a dark time. 💀💀💀
liam has his fair share of faults, but i’ll always give him credit for one thing. as gene once said, no one was allowed to talk badly about uncle noel in their house no matter what had happened between them (we can believe this or not, of course, but still…) which honestly makes it even weirder to look at the other side of things where it often felt like noel was actively trying to get his kids on his side and encouraging their negative feelings towards their uncle (i mean… seeking validation from your teenage daughter in a fight with your brother? insecure man behaviour, if you ask me).
very very dark times fr…

i love this picture. i know noel hates that tattoo so bad
a rough timeline of the 1996 kidnapping. 😇👍
noel arrives at heathrow airport late at night on the 12th september ‘looking red-eyed and tired’
the next morning (13th september) liam arrives ‘surrounded by bouncers’ at gatwick airport with the rest of the band and is ‘whisked away in one of a fleet of waiting limousines’
on the 17th september ignition releases a statement to reassure fans that the band is not breaking up, just taking some time away from touring (i haven’t been able to find the full statement yet but when i do i’ll post it)
on the 26th september noel makes his first public appearance after the breakdown of the us tour when he and meg attend the opening of the london fashion cafe
n.b. that liam’s birthday falls on the 21st september—which means he was probably still staying in that country house with noel when he turned 24 🫡
important disclaimer that this is a very rough sketch and as & when i find out more (& in particular i hope to narrow down the dates a bit more) i will be adding to this post. but anyways. sources (shitty screenshots from the british newspaper archive. Sorry) below the readmore!!
Liam roamed around the stage more than usual, or more than I've seen, and he did his usual stuff, like reaching out and touching a chick's hand, and pressing his back up against the stack of amps. He was handed a Union Jack at the end of Walrus, and he wrapped it around himself like a skirt. A roadie brought out Noel's army coat and laid it over an amp or stand, and before the end of Walrus, he put it on and stuck his hand out for Liam, and they skipped off stage together, laughing all the way.

i can excuse brothers incest, but i draw the line on the relationship between a 60-year-old man and a woman the age of his daughter.
