you worked in the circus, a traveling caravan of wonders and magic. it was a routine stop at the castle’s town. the act was about to begin as you wandered the grounds, calling on people to get to the main tent to see the show. your assistant was missing, lost somewhere in the suffocating crowd. from the corner of your eye you see a flash of brown, your assistant’s hair? you turned around, only to see a tall, severe looking man, standing right next to you. “hello…” he breathed, his low voice catching your attention and keeping it. “Have you seen a boy with blond hair? about this tall-” he gestured, placing his hands near his eyebrows. “It seems I’ve lost my idiot son again.” this man had a child? he leaned in, his blue-gray eyes staring directly in to your own. “you know what?” he amended, “could you take me to your ringmaster? I’ll never find him this way.” you gulped, feeling an odd pressure to do as he said. “O-of course…” you managed to stutter out, “right this way…”
