There’s a difference between wanting to change your body to improve and strengthen it and wanting to change your body because you hate it. It’s important to know the difference because one of those will destroy you from the inside out.

note to self:
next time you think you look fat in a dress, remember that you look fat in everything you wear. because you’re fat.
and it’s okay.
this is really good advice and actually makes me feel a LOT better. thank you.
The world will learn to make space for you. Don’t be afraid to be all that you are.
This is a safe place. You can breathe again.
Believing you deserve to be treated well and believing you are worthy of everything everyone else has is the first step in self-love. LOVE YOURSELF DAMNIT!
so leave me, if that’s what you think is right. it will never be anyone’s loss but yours.
Being skinny will not bring you peace. Loving yourself will.
Being skinny will bring better health. Being fat will bring diabetes, coronary artery disease, heart disease, lymphedema, fatty liver disease…
Being skinny brings me a hell of a lot of peace knowing I most likely won’t die prematurely from obesity related illnesses
I’m glad to hear that you live a content, peaceful life. This post was more directed at people who have been demonized for their weight for their whole lives and made to feel worthless for it.
I’m happy to hear that you’re at peace within yourself, it’s a very important thing for everyone. Have a beautiful day!
Thank you! This really helped me today. i was feeling very negative about myself and my body today, but I’ve realized that there is so much more to me than just my body.
I’m so happy to hear that! Your journey of self-love is just beginning and it’s going to be hard, but worth it. Stay wonderful!
Ya’ll, this is a PSA:
@thickgirlsuggestion now that is how you navigate antagonistic comments with grace. Gently not making it about them. Nailed it.
This is so kind of you, it made my day!! I appreciate your words so much. Have a beautiful week!!
You’re like a woman in a renaissance painting, smooth gauzy mist caressing your curves as you raise your face to the heavens. Your body is art. Never forget this.

Your opinions are yours, my body is mine. Let’s keep the two as separate as parallel lines.
Do what makes you feel good and at home in yourself. Whatever that means for you, just know that this body you have is the only one you’re going to get, and you have to live with it forever. The only job your body has is to keep you going. It works so hard for you. So love it. Treat it well. Appreciate the beautiful body you have been given regardless of what anyone has to say about it.
I don’t know about you but I’m so sick of that omnipresent association of sports/fitness with weight loss as the ultimate goal.
(PS: I’m not sure how efficient punching people is for building muscle mass but I’m afraid she’s had a lot of opportunities so I guess four pounds is probably realistic?)
bloggingaboutbipolar thanks so much for sending this!

And I said to my body softly, 'I want to be your friend.' It took a long breath. And replied, 'I have been waiting my whole life for this.'
