“On second thought… let’s not go on there.” He pales, a shiver running down his spine. He did not NEED that imagery popping in his head thanks. He’s never going to look at a rollercoaster the same.

EVER AGAIN.

With a brain like his, he’s going to have every. single. detail. In almost Perfect. clarity. Every time he looks at one.

From now on, he’s going to be even more careful about pissing off a woman. They seem harmless, but that’s how they get you.

How can his favourite detective deal with something like that?!

Then Again he wonders if Shinichi has mastered the ability to switch that part of his intelligent brain off.

“Don’t worry, we can go on it just fine, besides… Did you forget who you’re here with?” Shinichi’s lips twitch into a mischievus grin, eyes curving shut. “Kudou Shinichi at your service. If a scorned lady DOES kill you, be sure I’ll solve your murder regardless of how big the suspect pool would be.”

Slight after jab after stab in his words there, but all in good fun! … ish! If nothing else, he WOULD solve the murder at least!

"... Geez thanks, but no thanks. I rather live at least until my goal is reached" he says dryly. Thanks, Shinchi, he really needed to worry for his life more than he already does. He doesn't want to die yet, not with Snake and others still on the loose.

"Besides, if I'm dead you're not going to get to catch you know who. You do want to catch him, don't you? Don't tell me... has his beloved Meitantei given up?"

“In that situation, yeah.” he nods, crossing his arms over his chest as he recounts the details. “Used something like a purse to escape the ride restraints and made use of the darkness of he Mystery Coaster tunnel to wrap a wire around the victim’s neck. Then, she tossed a hook attached to it onto the riller coaster track and let that do the rest. She was a gymnast, so that sort of thing was easy for her.”

“But, I knew she’d done it because of two reasons, and not just because she was an atlethe,” he holds up two fingers, smirk on his lips. 

“First, the necklace she was wearing when she got on the ride, was gone when she got off. That was the murder weapon. Also, unlike the others, she had a tear trail that was horizontal, so she’d already been crying during the ride while performing the murder, instead of afterwards like the rest of her friends.”

Finny Heist-Open starter

F-Finny things! There are Finny things here! Why did this party for showing off a jewel had to have them on the menu?

Damn, he’s going to have to stay calm, he’ll blow his cover otherwise. Taking a few breaths to calm himself, he’s suddenly met with a waiter, carrying  a platter with fish on it. “Would you like some of this sir?” He asks offering up the platter to him

“ ARRRRRRRRGH!”Kaito screams and jumps away, drawing quite a bit of unwanted attention.

A high end party on a cruise ship to celabrate the jewel that was fished up inside a rich lady’s fish during her husband’s fishing trip. Considering how parties in enclosed spaces tend to go when he’s around, he’d have preferred not to have to be there at all ; but it was basically game over the moment Sonoko’s grandfather purchased the jewel AND the fish it was found in, held a party, and sent out a challenge to KID which was responded to with the expected flourish.

So of course the KID Killer also had to be there.

‘Still,’ he thinks, watching Ran and Sonoko chatting over near one of the buffet tables, both dressed to the nines in designer dresses 'Did she have to do THIS to me?’

Going with the theme, Ran decided that a shirt with a shark motif would go GREAT with the slacks and suit jacket, giving it a casual formal look. Even the band aid on his cheek seems to have a cartoon-y fish pattern on it. Ran’s clearly been looking forwards to it, but isn’t this a bit much?

And then, just as he feared would happen, something that ALWAYS seems to happen : a bloodcurling scream indicating sheer MURDER. Kicking himself into action, he immediately rushes over and–

Stumbles a bit as he comes to a stop. Where… Where is the body…?

Damn it! He tried so hard too! He quickly ruffles his hair into a quick Shinichi Kudo style.

"Ah ha ha ha... S-Sorry, I was lost in thought and got startled..." He stutters, " N-No thanks, I d-don't eat it."

He rubs the back of his neck with nervous awkwardness, but thankfully most of the attention is now off of him, as people go back to whatever they were doing.

"Very well sir." The waiter leaves, not commenting on how it had been the sight of fish that had scared him. After all, it isn't his business.

However, Kaito's relief was short-lived, because a familiar little detective is spotted in a shark-themed outfit.

Poker face… poker face … poker face…  it isn’t real… it’s just a Shark-themed outfit… calm down… calm down…

         ˙ KID’s following words go lost on deaf ears. Every step feels awkward. Everything is too low. He is too high. His very own body has become a stranger.

         ˙ What exactly does he have left to return for? Surely not Ran- not anymore. And it’s not like he can’t see his parents as Conan.

         ˙ Conan… He’s the one who has it all, isn’t he? People love him, Ran loves him— even Kaitou KID fussing over him is due to his friendly rivalry with Conan. Whereas Kudou Shinichi…

         ˙ Kudou Shinichi is dead.

         ˙ Dead to the world, and dead to his life. People have stopped waiting for him. People have moved on. Without him. 

        ˙ His feet come to a stop, his hands clench into trembling fists. He should have known this would happen. Why hadn’t he known? Why had he thought that he could take out the bad guys, take back his body and get the girl? Just because weird stuff happened, doesn’t make his life a fairy tale. 

        ˙ His shoulders tremble and a small, bitter chuckle leaves his lips.

Honestly he never thought his beloved detective  could look so depressed… He could  take a guess that the reason is Ran. .. He can’t think of anything else that could possibly get him down like this…

⟡ ═══ ♛ ═══ ⟡ “Didn’t you just claim not to know me.” His voice is more bitter than he’d hoped it would sound, and he can’t find the energy to struggle against the tug.

         ˙ Kid’s height without heels or top hats is just a bit taller than him- an inch, maybe two: exactly the height he’s supposed to be. The height he would be if that stupid pill hadn’t stunted his growth because he’s no longer him, because most of the time he’s in the body of a six years old–

         ˙ Now that he gets a better look, isn’t KID’s face disturbingly similar to his, right now? And his hair - it’s the same hairstyle he’s seen in the other occasions KID wasn’t wearing a tophat. Don’t tell him - is this KID without any disguise of sorts…?

         ˙ Surely not, right?

One Too Many Times

He holds out his hand to the dove, who flies to him. “I’m  often mistaken for that kid fellow. we’re very different people, despite our similarities according to what I’ve heard”

⟡ ═══ ♛ ═══ ⟡ Someone so brazenly saying they’re comparable to KID is far from humble - but the words die on his tongue. He’s just not in the mood. Not for this. Not for him. Not now when the one person he’d always imagined in his future had stepped out of its picture herself.

         ˙ It’s already bad enough that, even during a time like this, he can still recognize KID’s voice. That his brain analyzes every word used and spins across each possible meaning three times. Both with KID’s words, and with Ran’s.

         ˙ Rather than respond, he rests his forehead on his folded hands, elbows on his knees. What did he take the temporary antidote for… Now he can’t even console her as Conan… Isn’t she crying by herself now…?

         ˙ Again. As she has since this whole situation started.

         ˙ He’s the worst.

“Heeh~ Oh really?” And here he though Shinichi was too serious to get into mischief. He is so going to  give him a hard times over this. “He scolds me every time he finds out  I get into mischief.”  Well, it’s a different kind but still.

Shinichi?! Since when has he been back to his original form? Wait that’s not the most important thing here, he’s obviously very upset! He didn’t expect that his trip here would have him seeing him like this.

Who upset his favourite detective??? Determined, he walks up to the upset detective, throwing a small ball in front of him, which grows in size, before   exploding into a puff of smoke and a cooing Dove with a  rose in it’s mouth, that lands on Shinichi.

That should distract him from his turmoil, even for a moment.

⟡ ═══ ♛ ═══ ⟡ Just what he needs. Kaitou KID. Who knows what disguise will meet him if he’s to look up right now? What sort of prank awaits if he gives in and pays attention.

         ˙ He closes his eyes, not accepting the rose from the dove and not saying anything for a moment, before he blows out a long sigh through his teeth.

         ˙ “Keep walking, KID. I’m not in the mood to chase you today.” it’s not even a heist day, why would the criminal out himself like that? Though it just goes to show how out of it he is that he hadn’t sensed him : normally he does.
