Beth had been born the middle of three siblings, and due to that, she was never given as much attention as her siblings. Her older sister was the first born, and her brother was the first son, which drove her to demand attention from people, not only her parents and siblings, but everyone else. She began taking things, it started small, small things from the store, money from purses, but she managed to get better things from people, jewellery, cars, anything she wanted. She knew that she was doing something wrong, but it was the only thing keeping her from fading into the distance, from people ignoring her. Her parents found out and warned her, but she ignored them, she craved the attention, fed off it.
She was unsure what she enjoyed the most, the attention or the stealing, but her parents were furious when she came home with ÂŁ300 worth of stolen goods, and shipped her off to hope grove, the threat of jail ringing in her eyes, which was the only thing making her go, and the prospect of stealing things on the inside, and perhaps selling them.
