âokay, but whoâs to say iâm not gonna lie to you just so i get to read a little bit of your book?â he responded with a smirk, raising an eyebrow at her. wyatt was genuinely intrigued by the girlâs work, convinced she was being humble. âbut iâll take it,â he added with a shrug, chuckling as he linked his own pinky with hers. as reluctant as he was to admit it, he had a soft spot the girl and the pinky promise he willingly made with her was evident enough. âarenât you a lucky girl? most people donât even get a first date with me,â he teased, dark eyes watching her intently. it wasnât long before their waiter returned to their table and was setting down the dishes. as he got a whiff the food, an excited look appeared on his face, eager to try the pasta dishes sheâd been gushing about. âdamn, this looks amazing,â he commented, admiring the food on the table. wyatt thanked the waiter once he was done setting their table and left them alone again. âi guess iâm never gonna get to read that book of yours, huh?âÂ
âiâm trusting you, here. deos that mean youâll be lying to me on our first date?â she asked in a teasing tone, her eyebrow raised towards him. nova had hardly known the man sitting across from her at the table, but for some reason, he had all of her trust put into him. he gave her a sense of security that she herself was unable to justify. it was strange, nova was usually extremely cautious around other people. she was someone who lived in fear a lot more than she cared to admit. âhey, looks like i played my cards right.â she joked, her eyes stuck on his, constantly getting lost in his gaze. âyou day might come.. if i ever actually finish it. i promise, all will be revealed someday.â she laughed, moving to take her first bite of their meal. âand it somehow gets better every time i come. maybe this time itâs just because i have good company.â she teased, laughing a bit.
