It's fun taking apart an engine. You get to see where things happen, how things work, and marvel at how simple they really are. It's also painful at times, like when you smack a knuckle off of the corner of the block getting the last bolt off the piston. It's also painful coming to terms with the fact that this flattop really was shot--the valves are seized and the crank gasket race is deformed; not going to be worth putting it back together.
