I am currently working to build a cocktail consulting group called “@bartend4fun,” helping with cocktail styling and menu development, education on spirits and able to enjoy ans taste what you drink responsibly. Over the past years, I've worked in bars, catered private events, and participated in competitions to achieve the education to be able to say I'm a bartender. I’m always trying to extend my knowledge in mixology, and the hospitality industry, while trying to open doors for others. Having bartended at a bar in the Logan Square area, The Winds Cafe from 2003 to 2009, It's now the famous Longman and Eagle Bar, worked in the Catering Dept at the Hilton O'Hare Hotel from 2000 to 2003 before becoming a Meetings and Conventions Planner, Had the pleasure of serving for Aramark in St. Louis for Boeing 1994 to 1996 before moving to Chicago. These are some of the fights I've won trying to make my way in this business. In late 2009, met this crazy bartender at the Dong Q Rum competition, was introduced to this Organization called the USBG and from there the opportunities and the education have soared. I know I can tend bar. I have a feeling I'd be great at it, all my jobs have been customer service based. It is the one thing that I'm most passionate about and truly would be happy doing for a lifetime. One of the things I enjoy most about being in this industry is how diverse of a world culture you get to meet, with different views, styles, and personalities. The level of social interaction you get in this industry does not compare to many other jobs out there. I confess now to being a lover of whisky, mezcal, and good tequila. Credit it all to my Southern Wine & Spirit Academy Alumni. I'm always trying to read everything and anything that has to do with cocktails and its history. Bartending is like Science class your cocktail has to have a perfect balance in taste, but most importantly is the way you have to have personality to sell and present it to the consumer. I consider myself a Cocktail Therapist for Hire. @bartend4fun is my dream idea of what's going on in the world of spirits and around the Chicago today. My passion is to educate you, via social media, photos, live events etc. Not being able to do something you are passionate about bothers you, but it doesn't stop you from finding your own way to do it. The name might be bartend4fun, but the objectives are to be paid just like you! Cheers!
