Matt smiled as she took his hand and guided it over to the honey, and clasped his hand around it, resting his cane in the crook of his elbow as he found his tea and combined the two. “– You’re absolutely right; one should never be forced to settle for a sub-par tea-drinking experience,” said he, utterly taking the piss out of tea-snobs with his words, then taking a long draught of the tea, hot and sweet, the sterility of the honey helping to mask the taste of dirt. “– Mmm…thank you, Maya. Perfect.”
Maya laughed softly at the reply before having a sip of her own drink. “No problem,” she said, rolling her shoulders. Glancing at him, she noticed that she had missed him. Yes, she had kissed him goodbye and she wasn’t going to cry over him not being in her life anymore - and it wasn’t like it was what she wanted - but something about seeing him again... She sighed softly. She had promised herself not to get involved with anyone from her old life again before she had found her new purpose. But she was known for not always making the greatest choices. “How have you been?”
