Waited patiently for the Diamond Rush event just so I can unlock Takao's route. The sheer patience I tell you...
I just remembered something from episode 6: when Lilly and the MC are discussing the reason why Jake tapered off his communication with Hannah, Lilly eventually concludes that Jake caught wind of Hannah's infatuation with him. But he specifically mentioned his "flaw" where he can't read emotion in text well in an earlier episode. Was Hannah just THAT obvious? Because Lilly didn't mention any confessions or anything on Hannah's part. I'm not suspicious of Jake of course, it just seems weird.
This is why I think Jake relies very heavily on emojis 🤗. He finds it hard to understand emotions in texts and most likely takes words at their face value, for example:
Seeing a text between two people saying, “Would you like to grab a drink later tonight? We can drive back to my place and have some actual fun afterwards, if you know what I mean.” would be seen as a flirtatious text to us, but to Jake it would look like someone asking their friend if they wanted to spend a quiet night at their home together.
That is why emojis become his saving grace in understanding other peoples intentions, and why he uses his own so sparingly. He feels they reveal his thoughts easier and saves them for when he feels it’s important or when he trusts someone else with his emotions. Exclamation points can also be a helpful insight for him.
In that case, Hannah might have been sending him emails like, “You should come to Duskwood, we can do all sorts of things together 😘, I’ll even show you around town if you’d like, just the two of us. 💕💕”
I think even Jake would notice flirtatious messages if the person in question was continuously inviting him out to places alone while adding a heart emoji to almost every email, complimenting him and stuff. So yes, she was probably being very obvious in her feelings for even Jake to pick up on it 😂.
This is also why I appreciate text options where you send an emoji to Jake, it feels like you are helping him talk to you and understand you better.
Something I've noticed with episodic games is that there will be a ship that is more vocal/popular within a fandom (ex. pricefield in life is strange) and the game team will notice that and cater more towards that relationship and the other options feel more... forgotten about. It may have to do with the storyline or with how complicated it is to write multiple romance story lines but.... I got a feeling in the more recent EPs of Jake x mc being pushed. I mainly felt this when reading the convo from the recent ep between Phil and Jessy (where he asks if mc is single), especially since I only flirt with Jessy
I agree that creators can and do change a storyline at times to better please their fan base. It wouldn’t shock me if Everbyte has considered rewriting a few pieces of the story for Jake fans.
But I believe that Jake was always meant to be one of the central pieces to the story and he is supposed to be likable for the player, male or female. We can see this as early as episode one when we try and get him to open up about himself (the abandoned island and hair color questions) and he shows an interest in us back. The devs want us to at least like Jake and trust him, that’s why trust is brought up so much in his dialogue.
As for other characters being forgotten a bit, I can agree with that. Id love to have more conversations with Thomas and Dan, they are some of my favorites. Cleo also desperately needs more character development, she is (in my opinion) one of the least interesting characters at the moment, if they could flesh her out a bit more it would be amazing~
The same thing for Jessy, can you imagine how great it would be if Jessy has shown some jealousy over Phil liking f!MC or at least if m!MC was able to flirt with Jessy on the same level as Jake x f!MC? By what I’ve heard and seen, Jessy x MC is not as blatantly obvious as romantic like Jake x MC is.
The issue may also be coding as well, Everbyte most likely can not or choose not to have more diverging story changes depending on what you choose because it would take more effort and time to do. Time they might not be able to afford as small game developers and it would take way longer for each episode to be released.

aloof heir and rude heir would definitely get rigid and tense, not sure how to handle something so intimate.
charming heir and shy heir would move around as much as possible to keep the MC asleep and happy. they’d make sure they were as comfortable as all get out!
MCs roommate, jenna, mozelle would probably soon fall asleep with them, haha.
sarcastic heir, flirty heir, bex, cass would wrap an arm around them or touch them some other sort of way while doing something else (like playing on their phone or reading a book).
lyon would try to snap a discreet photo of the two of them so they could look back fondly at the memory.

rude heir, flirty heir and cass thinks their kid can do no wrong, even if they were in the wrong. they’ll always have their kids back.
charming heir definitely a pushover parent and would allow their kid to do whatever they wanted to with little fuss.
jenna is more on the strict side, but it’s out of love. they didn’t particularly like they way they grew up and want to make sure their own kid doesn’t make the same mistakes they did.
MCs roommate and mozelle is their kids best friend. if their kid is around, they’re hovering over them, ready to join in on whatever they’re doing.
shy heir and lyon is a worrier and a hoverer (is that a word? LOL). they like to know where and what they’re kid is doing all the time because they want to make sure they’re safe.
aloof heir and sarcastic heir is pretty hands off from day to day, but will always come through for their kid when the stakes are high.
bex will pretty much let their kid do whatever they wanted to make up for the fact they really couldn’t do much in their youth.
Um how would the heirs react to MC reading a magazine that has Robin in it and sighing softly 'she really is pretty...' and clearly comparing themself with her??? 😳

The heir could tolerate a lot of things. He could tolerate being called every annoying synonym under the sun for liking to chase anybody he thought was attractive. He could tolerate his dad’s consistantly unapproving gazes whenever he breathed.
But he could not tolerate those big, beautiful eyes full of tears, which they currently were in front of him.
“Sweetness, why are you crying? You know you’re too beautiful for that..”
The Prince’s question and following compliment only caused the male in his arms to cry even harder. He was glad the two of them were in a relatively secluded part of the Palace.
“Can you at least give me a hint?” The Prince asks.
Maybe it was aftermath of Games? Just because he was the winner didn’t mean that the whole country had to like him. Perhaps he came across some hate?
“People are sending you awful things online?” He asks. The crying boy shakes his head profusely.
The Prince thinks again.
“Bad news from back home?”
Again, another shake.
The Prince is getting desperate at this point and horribly worried. It had to be even more serious than he can think of.
“You’re so overwhelmed with the fact that you get to spend the rest of your life with me that you can hardly believe it?” He tries, mainly because his nerves were leading him to resort back to humor to hide his feelings. It was a weird feeling since he hadn’t even thought about doing that since they’ve gone official.
“A video,” he whimpers. “About puppies.”
The Prince freezes, thinking he misunderstood or something.
“A puppy video, Sweetness?”
As the boy’s cries start to quiet, he shifts in his beloved’s arms, giving him his full attention for the first time. The Prince’s heart annoyingly feels like it’s skipping beats underneath his gaze, but it’s only annoying because of all the people he’s ever flirted or been with, only this gorgeous boy ever made him feel like this.
“I saw it earlier. They...they were so cute. But then I got a notification that one of them passed away and I just...”
The boy buries his face back in the Prince’s chest while the Prince lets out a sigh.
“You’re too good for this world, Sweetness,” he sighs, pressing kisses to the top of his head.

Did Shea feel sorry/sympathy for the way MC previous Keeper treated them? Or is Shea jaded to the point where they kind of expect this stuff to happen? Is it common for Keepers to treat helvlings poorly (or is that more of an 'individual' thing)? If so, why does Shea treat MC as more of a human being unlike other Keepers?
Most Keepers treat their helvlings like you would treat, say, a trained war hound. They serve a single purpose and are to be used as a means to an end. However, some Keepers (like Shea) treat them with more respect, and others (unfortunately) do not.
As for Shea. they’ve become somewhat jaded over the years, especially after having served in the army. They still feel a certain measure of sympathy for the MC, however, and were frankly shocked at the MC’s state when they first came upon them. They have their reasons for treating the MC the way that they do.

Shea was sent by the Order to stop the MC’s rampage after they killed their previous Keeper and ‘broke free’, so to speak. More will be revealed about the MC’s/Shea’s past in later chapters. :’)

Both, really. They’d been severely neglected and, even before the MC had been Bound, they’d been tortured and kept prisoner for several years, so you could say that, physically, they weren’t in the best state to begin with.
MC and Heir/Mozelle have a couple fight and after that MC calls them "Your highness" instead of calling them by name. Heir/Mozelle's reaction?
sarcastic heir would retort with something like, “contestant 10.” they’d probably start calling them by random names depending upon whatever they’re around, LOL.
rude heir would roll their eyes. “so, now you want to call me by my title? let’s just go back to arguing.”
flirty heir would chuckle a bit, but it wouldn’t have its usual humor. “how about you leave the nicknames to me, Sweetness?”
shy heir would freeze because the words sound so foreign coming from their lips. they wouldn’t say anything back though.
charming heir would soften, knowing that they should just apologize or try and smooth over the disagreement. they’d gotten so used to them saying their name, rather than their title, so they want to go back to normal as quickly as possible.
aloof heir would cringe. “call me anything but that. I know you’re mad, but we’re closer than that.”
mozelle would start to get mad all over again. she despises that title being said by somebody she cares for.
