What kind of colored pencils do you use?
I don't actually use any particular brand, most of my collection comes from dumpster diving on college campuses! I think most of them are Crayola, plus an assortment of Swiss ones I got in 2004.

Fly page ! i like your work.. fellow canadian check out our page !
Thank you! Your designs are fantastic, I dig the money print! Hit me up if you ever want to collaborate at all, I'm crazy about clothing design and I've always wanted to give it a shot. Great work, fellow Canadian!
Concentration as in thesis
I wouldn't classify my artwork as "conceptual" so I don't work with a particular thesis in mind. However, I'd say that the basis of my work is rooted in my fascination with human beauty and its effects on people. I want to convey the kind of beauty that makes people breathless and sweaty and nervous and awe-struck, the kind of beauty that makes it easy to manipulate those around you. I'm curious as to what makes people beautiful, and I've come to the conclusion that it comes down to harmony between line, shadow and light.
I saw you draw Lana Del Ray. Do you take recommendations? Like if someone wanted you to draw Beyoncé or something?
Sure! I'll take recommendations any day. I have a pretty specific way of choosing my models, though, it's a kind of pull towards a striking set of features or an expression that makes it irresistible to draw. I would do commissions, though, if anyone wanted to pay for one!
You are EXTREMELY talented. Kudos to you!
Oh my goodness, thank you! This comment made my day :)
When you use ink, what kind of pens do you use??
It depends on what effect I'm trying to achieve, but I'll either use a regular ball point pen or professional drafting pens (in 01, 03, 05 and 07), and for large surfaces I use Sharpie. Thanks for the ask!
What would you call your concentration on your drawings?
Hi there! I'm sorry, but I'm not super sure what you're asking. Do you mean what kind of art I would categorize it as? Thanks for the ask, though, I'm always happy to answer questions! :)
hey, I love the blog. the pictures are very inspiring, especially the sketches. :)
Thank you so much! Those are my favorite too, I'm glad you like them :) Your blog is fantastic, by the way!
Are you the artist of Tiffany Thompson, formerly Untitled unknown model? If so, what is your name? Thanks! I loved it!
Yes, that's me! I made all the drawings here on my blog :) My name is Emmanuelle Wielgus. And I'm so glad you liked it, thank you!

Hi! I was looking at your work Untitled (unknown model ) Ink, colored pencils on paper Spring 2014Vancouver, BC, and would be very interested in having it published in HB, the drawing magazine. I would like to know more about your art. Do you have a website or portfolio I could look? And is Jolicoeur your artist name? Thanks!
Oh my goodness! I'm unbelievably flattered, thank you so much for the consideration! As of now, my only online portfolio is on tumblr (it's not quite complete yet, I haven't uploaded all my work). And yes, I usually publish my work under Jolicoeur (as in "Jolicoeur Designs & Fine Art") but all my drawings are signed with my real name, Emmanuelle Wielgus. Again, thank you so much for your interest! If you would like to get in touch more easily, my email is [email protected]
