The Phoenix and Dragons, symbols for male and female success.

In Intermediate Chinese 1 we learned two phrases ”望男成龙” (direct translation: hope son becomes a dragon, but means to hope your son is successful) and ”望女成凤” (direct translation: hope daughter becomes a phoenix, but means to hope your daughter is successful).

I don’t want to say this is my favorite place in the world, but I’m not sure how else to describe it. The dog cafe in Shanghai China (http://www.timeoutshanghai.com/venue/Restaurants__Cafes-Cafes/38149/Canil.html)  is not as much a cafe, as a dog kennel that has a dispenser of hot tea, but I’m not complaining. 50 yuan gives you endless time with these doggos, and memories galore. Not to mention the shop is in the historic Shanghai 1933, the old meat packing building. Drag a friend with the promise of cultural architecture, then shove them in this lovely place. :)
