A little more recent photos. The drywall is up now, though not mud and sanded. The living room loft above the bathroom has corrugated metal ceiling to help diffuse light since there are no windows. The kitchen ceiling on the opposite side has built in cleats and is where im currently building custom cabinets now!
A few older pictures from my time putting in the insulation and drywall. The textile above will eventually be covered by lattice and faux foliage and have a ceiling fan that has a leaf design for the fan blades.
Barnwood exterior trim around the windows and doors. Plumbing and electrical nearly done as well. More to come!
Between school, programming and the tiny house i have been neglecting you I'm sorry! Im currently in the process of adding sliding to the house. And guess what? Ive got reclaimed barnwood! Super excited to have the roof done which has been covered in EPDM roofing. Soon ill be able to sleep soundly knowing that the exterior is finished and I can begin the interior this winter provided that i can get the ammocan stove in there!!
Slow and not so steady but its progress, its all up. Just in time for it to be swelteringly hot next step, lofts
It's always good to have help from the pops! Framing is up. Last bits are the rafters and the lofts.
Finally some good weather so im getting some walls up!
Last weekend we finished up the undercarriage. It was by no means a neat job. Between the polywall sheets, spray foam and blown insulation it was a struggle. By far the most difficult part so far. But tomorrow i start framing which means things should go smoother and progress will come quickly. Soon tinytopia will look like a home!
In the time weather was bad i decided to work on another little project. In order to help heat the tiny house i made an airtight stove. You can find free wood on craigslist all day long but pallets are often treated with harmful chemicals.
Subfloor is complete! Next is to insulate the voids below and then onto the walls!
Also, i dont know what the hell this thing is but he was pretty chill and decided to help me with the plumbing. I named him Reggie.
Subfloor has been laid down. If it werent for other engagements id be farther ahead but photos will come shortly. Now that the weather is picking up and im past the point of working around the trailer things should come easily. Next step is to close in and insulate from underneath. Then onto raising some walls. Tis the season folks!
The time has come, the Walrus said.
Today is the day, weather be damned. I'm uncovering the house and starting back at it. So to catch up. My computer crashed, I lost all my sketchup files and house plans that were accurate to the half inch, tears were shed. Thankfully however I've committed it to memory. I'm happy to say I have no major changes in the design. Today I get my plumbing needs and maybe look for a few more windows. Thanks everyone for sticking with me through the winter.
Love the design, especially how the white lets the wood speak for itself.
Heather and Dana’s remodeled travel trailer
I totally dig this. Maybe not for full time living, but this is one BA road trip trailer
