But it's not their own body, that's kind of the point. It's a cosmetic vanity thing for the owner rather than the pet. Trimming or bathing has a health and safety aspects, tattoos do not.

I think as long as the animal is well loved and cared for the owner can make decisions for it. I am not saying I approve, tattooing an animal is stupid and a waste of money.

Also, of course I respect your opinion that there are other pressing issues of animal cruelty that need to be addressed. And I agree, there are many other heinous, more extreme acts that are being committed against animals. But this is animal cruelty as well so it does need to be addressed. Definitely not trying to attack your views or anything.

Vanity is vanity. I put my dog in a sweater because it looks cute. I got a tattoo, its not like I don't see where people are coming from, they do hurt. But the animal was sedated and that means it felt nothing. A tattoo is nothing more than a scratch the cat could get from fighting another animal in terms of pain afterward, but if the owner is cautious enough in the care, its nothing really. I think it is awesome, and a reflection of an amazing artist that I would pay hundreds to do a tattoo for me. I think in a way it could benefit the animal, because it would get it lots of attention, and cats love attention when they are in the mood for it.

My life is looking up for the better. 2 job interviews this week, and a date with a really amazing guy. I am so glad that I do not allow the bad things in my life get me down. If I had refused to be happy, I would have never been in position I am in now. I do celebrate the end for what it creates, because the end always brings a new beginning. Can't wait to see him again, and hoping I get one of the two (or both) jobs :] then saving up for my tattoo would be super easy. Life is looking up!!!
