Linda’s back with yet another treat for us! The 1995 pre-Broadway tour video of Bring On The Men!
Footage from Linda’s last Broadway curtain call! Memories and mishaps! Inside jokes! A farewell sports jersey? Lots of fun stuff here!
She’s also asking for someone who has the whole show to send it along, and alas, it’s one of the few I don’t have. So if you do have it, please share!
Hahahahahaha he’s playing Malvolio in Twelfth Night at Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey. Hahahahahaha. If you know, you know. I love it.
Basically, he’s a gullible and self-important pious man in love with the local countess, and he’s such an annoyance to those around him that they write a fake letter from her pretending she’s in love with him, too, so he’ll embarrass himself by presuming her love the next time he sees her and be dismissed.Â
This is the result.

Andrea Rivette and Coleen Sexton are reuniting tonight (former seeing the latter in Dear Evan Hansen tour) and that makes me happy.
If I had a nickel for every time Frank Wildhorn composed a musical in which the antagonist sat on a chair like this-
-I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
In the upcoming Australian production of Jekyll & Hyde, the board of governors will be played by actor musicians that double as the orchestra.
Based on this rehearsal photo alone, I’m certain that the production is going to be top tier.

I am INTRIGUED.
Re: Sweeney at The MUNY.
That “Worst Pies in London” is an awfully slow tempo, and some of the accent work is... questionable (though I’ve loved Carmen since the South Pacific revival tour). But the production design is doing its best on an absolute behemoth of a stage for something that works best with a midsized set. Other than that... yeah, looks like a good time and sad I won’t be there, because there’s a fucking pandemic still happening and that theatre holds like 10,000 people.
Andrea Rivette’s answering J&H questions on Instagram if anyone’s curious. This one isn’t mine (I can’t think of anything besides “How was it not against Equity rules to sing In His Eyes wearing no shoes?” or something silly like “Did you guys ever scribble notes to each other in the journal so the next J&H to open it gets a surprise” like the various incarnations of writing silly things on Lucy’s shoulder). I dunno. But this is fun regardless!
Somebody stop me from booking a flight to Missouri even though he’s only playing Turpin and it makes me want to cry.
Damn, I didn’t know Sweeney Todd was happening quite so soon. I want to go, because my passport expires next spring, but as a solo female traveler? To a gigantic stadium-type theater? In the middle of a widespread pandemic with no public health measures? In Missouri? I just don’t think it’s happening. If it were NY or even Chicago again, maybe, but... ugh, this sucks.
A missed opportunity dawned on me tonight, that I did not manage to write Utterson remarking “It is a strange case, indeed” somewhere in my fic. Should I go back and plant it somewhere for laughs y/n.
Literally all I remember about Mary Reilly is that the lab set was awesome. Everything else is a blank.
Do I stream Mrs. Warren’s Profession on June 21st or nah?
Imagine if the Thor 4 trailer during the NBA game tonight ends with Christian Bale in full Gorr make-up dunking a basketball and yelling “I LOVE THIS GAME!”
In costume in a cafe... I wonder what this was about.Â
