Alexander Calder - Birds Nest

This is my guide to the outline style of notes. These notes are really good for studying history and other humanties type courses. I include a how-to guide and an example, so hopefully it makes sense.

Basically, you start with one topic and use that as your heading. Then, you use a bulleted or numbered list to write down the details about the heading. If there is more specific information about one of your bullet point, you just indent further and make a seperate section for those points.

Instead of having one giant page of notes all about one topic, the outline style really breaks down your notes as you go. I find that this type of notes is really convenient when you are writing flashcards, because each section is what you include on one of your cards!

I’ve been drawing these simple branches and flowers in my spreads recently and wanted to make some sort of a reference sheet, but then I though it’d be nice to share it with you! You can use these in your notes, journal, diary, whatever. Many of those are pretty simple, just a line and a few dots and/or leaves :)
