They're loose!!!
Recently I had this dream about a comic/movie about an alternate world, with almost nothing in it except for a slot machine where if four symbols of a kind align, something appear in the world and when four symbols of a person appeared, a character of either DC or Marvel or neither, appeared in that world. The thing is, each time they where from worlds where they are the only one who remained alive in their respective universe, so basically the world gets filled with versions of characters where after some apocalypse, or battle or whatever they fight they survived but end up as The Last One on Earth (or universe).
The machine also make appear pieces of infrastructure (as in entire parts of cities just appear out of nowhere in their geographical location) or animals (usually extinct ones but mostly normal ones) and slowly the world got rebuild with all last heroes of the multiverse.
The machine worked as follows:
🦸🦸🦸The last heroe of DC, Marvel or any other comic appeared
🦹🦹🦹The last villain appeared (usually when that happens, the villain is either catatonic or had their respective arcs where they no longer desire what caused them to be the last one in their universe)
😺😺😺 An animal appeared in their natural environment (the world is mostly overgrown)
🌁🌁🌁 An city, or parts of complete infrastructures with anything in it except obviously people appear in some part of the world.
The comic/movie was called "The Planet of Castaways"
Random Idea #924 - SCRAPYARD KEEPER
I had this idea for an VR game; it's called 'SCRAPYARD KEEPER', where you get the job to manage and work on a scrapyard for money.
To be more clear, you are in charge to scavenge through the scrapyard for old parts of robots, from limbs and body parts to circuits and boards. Pieces may vary and each had some grade of decay or damage you have fix or replace.
Once you have the parts you can start building robots, the building process is really similar to that minigame you had to pass on Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach. Although with less jumpscares and even less dying, but if you mess up in any part of the process, the quality of the parts/robot get worse to a point it becames useless and you had to either discard it or wait the next day to get more parts.
Speaking of that, it comes the part where if you finish the robot, you have to decide: A) Sell the robot to a client and send it, B) Keep the robot to help you scavenge the landfill for parts instead of doing it yourself with a change to even get a full robot with random parts or C) Still keep it, but instead of sending it to the landfill, you keep it in your workshop to fix the pieces you or the landfill robots find, with a small percentage of either fix them or damage them even more.
You gain money selling the robots to either clients or to whoever needs them, custom jobs give more money and fixing commissions allows you to exchange scavenged parts for new ones.
With the money you earn you can buy upgrades to you own bots or the workshop, and even you can buy new factory grade parts. The objective of the game is to make it to the end of the in-game year, either to pay some debt or simply to don't get kicked of your job.
"Listen, I know it's been a while and you had, in fact, defeated the demon lord. I know you had found a family and love, and pretty much this is the happiest moments of your life. But you have to understand, RULES. ARE. RULES. you cant stay in this world."
"I know it sounds bad and straight up unfair, even I am against after what you did but... You need to understand, you are making more harm staying than anything."
I been thinking of an idea for a videogame.
Like a souls game like any other but the theme keeps changing through each chapter and boss you came across; maybe you start on a grimdark medieval setting, but on the next you are on a mythological Greece one, you defeated an eldritch god on Manhattan one time but then you are fighting toony woodland creatures in the other.
The style and background keep changing and even your character changes but you mission is still the same: fight mobs, level up, kill the boss, repeat.
“QUICK YOU HAVE TO SHOOT THE RIGHT ONE!!!” BANG “sinister chuckle You picked wrong.” “No I didn’t.” “…huh?”
Plot twist: he was an undercover assassin sent to kill him from the beginning, he never expected having to deal with doppelgangers but hey, now he can ask for double the payment for the job.
When you died to a vehicle accident, you expected to become an adventurer in a high-fantasy world. Instead, you were a crystal tied to a broken starship, one out of many in a field of barren space. Undeterred, you start to turn the wrecks into a Dungeon, becoming a powerful battleship as well.
Not gonna lie, that would be a really neat isekai, specially if the ship doesn't have like anthropomorphic features and all dialogue from the MC is in the same shape as those responses on some screen in the ship.
a necromancer who didn't want to get persucutated without giving up their abilities got an idea after watching their cities paladins so now they are an official paladin of the god of death and now every forbidden magic user is calling themselves paladins and the church is fuming.
How to piss off the clergy 101
"What came first, the chicken or the egg?" Asked the sphinx. To which you answer: "The egg. It's the egg." You need to spend an hour explaining descent with modification before it begrudgingly acquiesces.
The sphinx really tried to make its riddles more dificult but it only led to being tormented by philosophy.
You've been "trapped" in a "VR" game for years, learnt magic, had a family, etc. But now they've "rescued" you from it all. Waking up on the hospital bed you reflexively cast a shield. Which works.
OP, with all my respect, love and honesty, not gonna sugarcoat this comment, but this idea has been so used on some medias i believe if i even breath or touch this post it will crumble like a piece of old parchment.

The background and how the wizard is casting its spells on the dummy only makes me think on how funny would be the idea of some random wizard stranded in the middle of a desert island with nothing better to do that practicing its spells against some wood.
CHARACTER CONCEPT: PRACTICAL GOD
First, let me clarify that I'm referring to the dictionary definition of Practical, as of or concerned with the actual doing or use of something rather than with theory and ideas. A Practical god is basically a being whose powers follow a certain set of conditions, which, despite being described that way, are still the powers of a normal god. Some of those power are, of course:
Practical Omniscience: The power of know everything and anything but only in a certain world/universe and only at the current timeline. Like being able of know who and what is doing a specific person but not being clear of where those are or what are they gonna do next. It's all-knowing, not all-sapient.
Practical Omnipresence: Yes, it can be everywhere at any given time but only if it acknoledges it, so basically at least someone is concerned of their presence on a certain place and time, they can be there. Like when a show cuts to a character alone and suddenly it just appears from behind or next to them as in "You rang?"
Practical Immortality: In short, this is simple, they can die but they don't stay dead. Someone or something can kill it, but it basically just stands or appears a few moments later without any damage or effect on them. Additionally, the conditions of how it can be kill for real are so detailed and complex, it is a exercise of mental gymnastics and a waste of resources and time to even try. Like sure, you can stab it, burn it and trash it but it will come back near seconds later asking if you finished so they can move on.
And there's also things like being omnipotent and other god-like powers but what it also what characterizes a practical god is a aspect of its personality; it doesn't care, or rather it stopped caring. Yeah, sure, it has all the powers in the tip of its fingers, and pretty much can change everything at will... but in reality, it doesn't find a reason of doing it, everything is dull, monotone and almost looping to them. It can't find motivation to do good or evil if it wants to, and even if it does, it will just be momentary. Sure, it will be different than before but even that will become normal with time, just like any other day.
A practical god is like air, you know is there and what is, you feel its there and when isn't, you know what happens when is there and isn't there, it just simply IS.
"I'm not the god of something, i'm just... God."
