"He's rather hard to miss, I definitely won't walk into him accidentally." 

"Numbers? None. Souls? At least ten, that's my goal for the night."

"It’d be funny for the first week while they were still new to intoxication, it’d be exactly like how it is now," he gestured to a girl stumbling through the crowd before crashing down on the ground. 

"I’d get bored in the long run, it’s more fun to tease and corrupt the quiet ones when they’re not…acting like they’re at a frat party."

"And what about you, are you this interesting on a regular basis?” A tinge of sarcasm seeping into his words.

"Maybe you have a point," He conceded, watching the fall of a girl nearby, though he made no move to help her. A desperate looking young man was quick to come to her aid, though, and the seen soon lost his interest, but made him wonder where he might be able to find a drink in the nearby vicinity. 

He arched an eyebrow at the returning question, hearing the hint of sarcasm in his tone. "Well, I don't need a mask to feign confidence. Masked or unmasked, drunk or not, what you see is generally what you get. So whatever you meant by that, yes, I am more or less like this on a regular basis. Care to go find a drink with me?"

Lallie hadn’t heard of incubi killing before, but this was Hell. Nothing was new. And so, she gave him the reaction she thought was fitting: she shrugged. “Oh, well. I helped kill three people last weekend. I didn’t take their names, but I did wear their clothes. Not that I wanted to, they had shit fashion sense. But I literally looked like Carrie after that prom scene, I couldn’t possibly walk on the street with so much blood on me. Or so Heron says.”

"Ah," He nodded slowly, wrinkling his nose a little bit at the mention of all that blood. Part of the reason his modus operandi involved little to know blood on most occasions was the inconvenience it created. Blood was messy, provided more opportunities to mess up, meant he could accidentally leave finger prints, shoe prints, get it on his clothes. "I prefer not to spill as much blood," He spoke freely, looking around for another drink. "Usually, anyway. More blood means more chance of getting myself caught." Should his boss ever find out, he would be screwed.

" I’ll try to be more graceful for you next time." Karina offered him a soft smile as he helped her up. Placing both hands on either side of his arms, the Succubus regained her footing, only to take a step closer. " Last time I slept with someone, I might have thought of you for a brief second." 

"I..  How can I thank you for being so gallant?" She desperately tried to change the subject.

"Pardon?" His eyebrows shot up when he heard the admission, before grinning. "That's incredibly flattering, I'm glad to hear it," He responded, mentally filing away that little fact to think about at a later date, or use for some sort of blackmail or tease should he need it. 

"You could thank me by getting us both shots-- I just had mediocre sex in a coat closet and I'd rather forget it." He winced internally at the blatant truth he hadn't meant to speak, and stepped slightly back from Karina, closer to the bar.

"Yes." She wanted to wrinkle her nose, but kept her expression neutral except for the tiny smile she gave him. "That’s good advice, but it seems the only fun available here is drinking or trying to beat the imps in a dancing contest. Which would you recommend, stranger? May I ask what your name is?"

"Drink, first, then dance." He adorned a smirk as he finished his own drink, holding onto his glass until he could find somewhere else to dispose of it. "Thomas Gotzon, and yours? Who did you come with?" Perhaps he would recognise her company, failing his recognition of the woman herself.

"Good," she said, although that truly wasn’t of any consolation at all. "They’re not victims, Thomas, they chose to have sex with you, I hope. It’s not like you raped them. You did steal their soul, but."

She looked down at her drink — his drink —, then slid it back to the incubus. Perhaps she had already reached her limit for the night.

Thomas took back his drink when she offered it to him, and yet again found his mouth opening without his express intent to do so. "I didn't rape her, but I did kill her, that makes her a victim. Her boyfriend too, actually, but that was an accident." 

Thomas found himself in sheer awe of his ability to unceremoniously spill his own well kept secrets tonight, and he had no explanation for why. "I-- forget that. Didn't happen. I'm clearly drunk, or something. "He shook his head, and promptly downed the drink in his hand. If he were drunk, he might as well do it right.

"Shut up, Thomas," she blurted out, a second before stealing his drink. He didn’t deserve it; she called it the arsehole tax. "My son’s name was Thomas. Well, my favorite one anyways."

"I—" Stunned by her own revelation, she stopped and looked away, the drink forgotten in her hand. "I didn’t mean to say that."

Thomas was reluctant to part with his drink when she stole it from him, but he decided that getting into a scuffle over a half drunk drink that he could easily replace later. He was taken rather off guard by the mention of a son named Thomas; he hadn't had an inkling that Lallie had ever even had kids. 

"Well, I'm fairly certain I'm not your son, if that's any consolation. Thomas isn't even my real name-- I stole it from the boyfriend of a victim." He replied with a shrug, before doing a bit of a double take at his own needless admission. Since when did he go around divulging the reason for the names he picked?

"A wager?" She raised an eyebrow, unimpressed but saying nothing of her personal distaste. "With whom, may I ask?—oh, I’m sorry, don’t feel the need to answer if you. I hope you win."

"Me? A friend asked me to go with her, but we’ve… been separated, so I’m just hanging out on the sidelines. Not very interesting, I know."

It was only that she moved on to answer his own question that he could keep from divulging more of his wager with Lallie, which was not something he wanted to talk about with a near stranger. "No entirely. You ought to find your own fun if you can't find your friend, otherwise you might find you've wasted your time."

"That’s easy when you can shapeshift. Some of us are naturally hot— no need for hellish intervention.”

"And some of us don’t get hangovers. Honestly, you make it too easy being better than you."

"Hellish intervention by way of shapeshifting is my favorite advantage, I've transcended beyond naturally hot."

"You may have me with the hangover thing, but I honestly don't think it's possible to be better than me."

Thomas took a reflexive step back when the woman fell just before him, distracting him from his efforts to get another drink. "This is definitely less graceful an entrance than the last time we met," He commented, moving to help Karina back up to her feet.

Resisting the urge to roll his eyes at the shortened version of his name, he gave a slight shrug. "Technically, I'm wearing someone else's face right now, and a mask."

"That’s the beauty of a masquerade, no one needs to know who you are — anonymity. It’s great." Masquerades were some of Bastien’s favorite parties, with a stolen mask on his face now, he was in full endorsement of the event. Going even so far as to hide his signature (for once). "You can do whatever you want and no one will know in the morning — even the quiet ones are getting into it, and I had them all pegged as straight laced sticks in the mud…" He paused, turning to the man, mouth open waiting for the right words to come to mind, "— meaning celebrating not…pondering the ambiance."

"It does make things more interesting, doesn't it?" His gaze drifted from the man with whom he was conversing to take in the masses before him, noting that few seemed awfully shy any longer, but there had been plenty at the initiation of the event. "Everyone's got their own dose of confidence from the masks. Imagine if they were all this interesting on a regular basis."
