Bakugo feeling left out because he didn't get any chocolates. But Uraraka notices and is the only one to give him one. Girls get roses, but she gets a huge boquet from anonymous that evening. P.S. **Sighes** A girl can dream.
Sorry this took so long, I’ve barely got any time to write anything yesterday and I woke up sick today. I managed to make a decent drabble though! I hope you like it!
“Blood stained ribbon”
“I’m justsaying, you’re checking your locker a lot dude.” Kaminari said with a sly tone.
“Fuck off,I told you losers that I was waiting for someone to return my English textbook!”Bakugou slammed his locker shut and gave it a kick.
“Who borrowedit from you?” Kirishima asked.
“Don’tremember.”
“How canyou not remember?” Kaminari tried to push the already infuriated boy’s buttonseven more.
BeforeKirishima could even come between the two, Bakugou grabbed the collar of Kaminari’sjacket and slammed him against the lockers. “I said I don’t remember so shutyour fucking mouth right now.” Bakugou threatened. His grip tightened withevery word that left his mouth, turning his knuckles white.
Kaminari grininstantly faded, corners of his mouth turning into a frown. Kirishima had a worriedlook on his face. They probably hadn’t seen Bakugou this on edge in a longtime.
Neither hadUraraka.
Alreadywearing her outside shoes she stared into her locker. Next to her school issuedshoes there was a small packet, made out of transparent foil and tied with asilk, orange ribbon. The packet contained six dark chocolates.
Uraraka hadstudied every detail of the packet. She noticed the end of the ribbon wasstarting to fray. She noticed that one side of the bow was just a tiny bitbigger than the other side. She noticed that one of the chocolates looked moreoval than round.
She wastrying to keep her mind busy, trying to think of the chocolates only and notabout actually giving them to her crush standing a couple of locker doors awayfrom her.
“Bro, canyou calm down? He was just teasing you.” Uraraka heard Kirishima trying tomeddle.
“We allknow you’re butthurt because of some chocolates but come on, there’s no needfor this.” Kaminari grabbed Bakugou’s wrist and pulled away the hand of ashaken Bakugou.
Urarakapeeked from behind her locker door. Surely Kaminari was just making an assumptionout of anger. A ridiculous assumption. She knew, just like everyone else, damnwell Bakugou had no interest in affection and romantic adoration. He nevermentioned it, nor did she ever hear him talk about girls in that way. Hell, she hasn’t even seen himblush or flustered. Ever.
Knowingthat, Uraraka still made chocolates for him. She drew different shapes fordays. Hearts, squares, ovals. Her notebook was covered with them. Her searchhistory was filled with recipes and tutorials. Her feet also hurt, from walkingaround so much, searching shops for dark chocolate of decent quality.
Uraraka putso much effort in, for a boy that would most likely chuck the chocolates in thenearest bin just moments after being handed them. Probably not even consideringto try one of them to be considerate to her.
“Kaminariplease calm do-.”
“-I don’tgive a damn about stupid fucking chocolates! I literally couldn’t care lessabout them!”
Anexplosion followed. A locker left smoldering and Kaminari left sweating, hismouth in a straight line. It stayed silent after that. Uraraka wasn’t sure ifthey were done with Bakugou or if they simply didn’t know what to say to him.
Kaminari sighedand left without even glancing at Bakugou. Kirishima shook his head.
“That wasn’tcool dude.”
“Tch.”
“I know youdidn’t mean to be like that though. Talk later okay?”
Kirishimafollowed his friend out of the school, yelling his name, asking for him to waitup.
Urarakastood stiff. She had never seen the three boys falling out so badly. Usuallythey were pretty good at handling Bakugou’s random and violent outburst, buttoday…
It musthave been something that has been piling up all day. She had noticed the boysbickering throughout the day but it didn’t seem like anything out of theordinary.
Urarakagripped her locker door tight. The last thing she wanted to do was move. She didn’twant to walk past a guy who she stupidly enough had got her hopes up for. Sherepeated the words he said moments ago in her head.
He couldn’tcare less.
Of coursenot. That’s exactly what she expected from him.
There wasno need to be upset. She should be relieved, that she didn’t give them to him andembarrassed herself.
Hammeringon metal made Uraraka jump. Continuous banging and yelling came from the otherside of her locker door. She slowly closed it. The hammering that was gettinglouder with every hit.
God, he wasso upset. He looked so so upset.
Face hotand red. Breath unsteady.
It was scaryactually, seeing the boy in this state. He didn’t deserve it. Bakugou didn’tdeserve to feel the way he did especially when there was the tiniestpossibility she could’ve made him feel different.
Before Bakugoucould notice her standing there, she went to open her locker again. Uraraka closedher eyes, trying to make the banging sound more distant and tried to collectall her courage. But she couldn’t concentrate. Bakugou yelled, most likely frompain at this point, and it pierced her heart.
Half of hercourage would have to do. She grabbed the chocolates and slammed her lockershut.
“Bakugou!”
Rightbefore completely smashing in a locker he let his fist hover. Instead oflooking at who called him out he looked at the damage he had done. He looked atthe dented lockers and his damaged fist. Slowly uncurling his hand, wincing ashe did.
“Bakugou I-“
“What thefuck do you want?” He said in a low voice.
It sentshivers down her spine. She only had a quarter of her courage left, which wasnearly not enough to get the sentence out she had rehearsed in her head allday. Uraraka ended up staring at him, waiting for him to say something instead.
After an uncomfortableamount of silence it looked like he was going to. A single letter left hismouth before he winced again and looked at his hand. His knuckles were open andblood was streaming down his hand and in between his fingers. Only nowrealizing what he had done.
That’s whatmade Uraraka blurt her sentence out.
“I madechocolates for you. I really hope you like them.”
She walkedtowards him and wanted to hand them.
Theexpression on Bakugou face looked very unfamiliar to her. His face was actuallyblank. Eyes big and lips pressed together. He took his time to take the packetof chocolates from her. Uraraka watched the blood seep into the orange ribbon, creating a color that came close to the color of his irises.
He didn’t sayanything, he just looked at it.
His pupils startedto dilate.
Quickly Urarakaglanced back from his eyes to her feet. Trying to hide her blush.
“This isthe first one I got. ” He mumbled.
He undidthe ribbon with his other hand and let the ribbon fall to the floor. Awkwardlyhe fished a chocolate out and raised it to his lips.
“Do you haveto watch?”
“Oh! I’msorry. I’ll just…”
Urarakaturned around on her heels and fiddled with her fingers. She listened closelyand heard Bakugou biting down on the chocolate. A small hum leaving his mouth.
Uraraka bither lip in excitement. Bakugou did care. He did want chocolates, like nearlyevery other guy in class. And he finally got them. He liked them.
She heard himgo for a second one.
“Can I…?
“No.”
Urarakaquietly giggled to herself. She tried to muffle her laughter with her handuntil Bakugou tapped on her shoulder. With the largest smile on her face sheturned back to him.
“Thank youUraraka.”
“Mypleasure.”
Back at thedorm Uraraka immediately went to her room and jumped on her bed. Screaming intoher pillow and kicking her feet into the mattress. She did so until she wastired and out of breath. She rolled onto her back and stared at the ceiling, replaying the afternoon in a continues loop.
She wouldnever forget his face. The gentlest expression.
She couldstill hear his voice. The ‘thank you’ so genuine.
Uraraka didn’teven know he was capable of that.
Holding herface, she rolled from side to side. Thinking about how she didn’t evenrecognize herself. It was the first time she completely gave into the feelingsshe had developed for Bakugou. It was scary, like jumping in the sea. But muchlike swimming to the surface, it felt amazing, thrilling in a way.
Urarakawondered if any of the other girls had felt the same way today.
Not only werethe girls giving the boys chocolate that day, but girls got given thorn lessroses. She had seen some nice exchanges that morning. She saw Kyouka pushing abox of chocolates in Kaminari’s hands and then running away straight after. Shegot chased by her crush, that intended to give a rose to her.
Kyouka wasthe first girl in class to get a rose and all the other girls had admired itthoroughly during their free period. The girl was blushing the whole time, tryingto cover up the adorable exchange by telling her friends it was more stupid andcomical than cute. The free period was all squeals and chants. All the girlsrooting for each other to get a rose by the end of the day. Most of them gotlucky.
Tooru got arose from Ojiro.
Mina got arose from someone from class B.
And Momoeven got five roses that day.
The roseskept coming in, but not single one for her. The more red petals she saw, the lessshe felt like squealing and chanting.
It was niceto see her friends be so admired, but it would also nice be admired herself.
Aiming notto drown in her jealousy she closed her eyes and replayed the event from theafternoon. Making her feel giddy again.
“The firstone he got.” Uraraka softly said to herself.
“Lucky him.”
She startedto nod off, content with her day. She aimed to close her eyes for the finaltime until she heard a rumble from downstairs. It seemed to come from thecommon room but it gradually started to make its way up.
Urarakajumped out of bed and opened her door.
“What’sgoing on?”
She openedthe door and saw five girls collapsed and panting at her door.
“Guys, what’swrong?!”
And thenshe noticed. Mina was holding a bouquet with a bunch roses.
Urarakafelt her heart clench. Someone went all out. Someone got given a bouquet andshe didn’t get a single rose. She tried her hardest to not let her face sour.
“Who gotyou those Mina?”
The girlsall looked at each other as if she was mad. Mina held up the bouquet closer toher face. Not being able to contain all the irritation Uraraka pushed the rosesdown.
“I can seethem Mina, gosh!”
Momo wasthe first one to catch her breath and speak up. “Uraraka, these are for you!”
With aconfused look Uraraka took the flowers from her friend. She counted the roses. Thirteenroses. In them was a small card hidden. She pulled it out and saw that thefront had one of her favorite heroes, Space Hero Thirteen, with a heart next tothem on it. Slowly she turned the card around.
It said whoit was for.
Her.
And it saidwho sent it.
Anonymous.
Urarakastared at the card for so long she started seeing blurry. She blinked to readthe words for the hundred time. After a while she settled that the card wasn’t goingto tell her anything. She inspected the rest of the bouquet for any kind ofhint.
Then shesaw what held the bouquet together.
A silk,orange, blood stained ribbon.
“Lucky me.”
RAINBOW BABY.

LET ME TELL YOU WHY I LOVE THIS SCENE AND THIS EPISODE AND THIS SERIES AND WHY I COULD WRITE A DISSERTATION ON EVERYTHING
First off, it’s an entire episode about prejudice and discrimination without the POC being the one to have to tell it. Rather than always taking the role of the person who has to tell us why prejudice is bad, Cyborg gets to be the friend and confidante. He gets to be the one to relate to Starfire’s problem.
Starfire is understandably upset about Val-Yor calling her a “troq”, but doesn’t want to burden her friends, especially during the course of an important mission. Cyborg, however, soon stumbles onto the truth. How absolutely powerful his line “So he’s been calling you a terrible name, and you know that if you punch him out, it’ll just confirm all the bad stuff he thinks about you.” This speaks directly to the concept that marginalized people must always be on their best behavior, must always be working tirelessly against stereotypes and discrimination, and if they falter, if they get angry or upset or even just have a bad day, they will immediately be labeled as precisely the thing they are working against. Of course he understands exactly what she’s feeling.
(What’s left out of this gif set is that he tells her he understands because he’s part robot, which speaks so much to Cyborg and how unique and treasured his relationship with Starfire is, and how much he probably values being not seen as an “other” human, but as a human in general. Their relationship is so ridiculously amazing, that could take an entire other post, DON’T GET ME STARTED IT WOULD BE REALLY LONG BECAUSE I LOVE THEIR FRIENDSHIP.)
And Cyborg convinces Starfire to tell Robin about what Val-Yor’s been doing because he knows how much she means to him and that he would want to know, even though Starfire doesn’t want to burden him. (And if you go back and watch the episode, listen to the way Scott Menville delivers the single line “What” when Robin does hear about it; it just perfectly captures the quiet anger and insult that he feels and UGH I COULD DO A WHOLE POST ON THE VOICE CAST DON’T ENCOURAGE ME.) Robin of course immediately wants to defend Starfire, but being the incredible person that she is, she reminds him that their mission is more important than her feelings. She knows that there are other things at stake and is determined to be a strong person and try to ignore blatant discrimination against her, to work with this guy even though he doesn’t respect her, because that’s what needs to be done. He continues to try to ignore and marginalize her until she finally just tells him to shut the fuck up and let the big girls take care of the alien invasion. Which she does, while saving his sorry ass.
AND THEN to their immense credit, the writers bring us back to Earth where Val-Yor is trying valiantly (or pathetically, take your pick) to save face and remarks that Starfire “must be one of the good ones.” To which Starfire promptly replies that she is no better than any other Tamaranean just because she saved his worthless hide and that he better get out of there while she deigned to let him live. He leaves and Starfire acknowledges that some people will never like you because they are bigoted and that that’s okay because there are other people who are not and they are the ones who truly matter. When I first saw the episode, I was afraid they were gonna give Val-Yor a pass and have it all hugs and smiles, but they actually held him accountable and acknowledged that some things are more complicated and that sometimes people cannot be changed. But you keep moving forward anyway.
I JUST HAVE A LOT OF FEELINGS ABOUT TEEN TITANS, OKAY?!
Then she bubbled her.
