  Ella sat on her best friend’s bed, waiting for the girl to come back from wherever she snuck out to. It wasn’t a rare occurrence for her friend to use her as a cover, but this time Ella was slightly mad at the girl. The two had planned a girl’s night and she was ditched for some guy. Hearing the door open, she let out a sigh, “Finally...whe- oh....it’s you,”she mumbled, noticing her best friend’s older brother had opened the door. “Can I help you?”

“Can someone stop that fucking beeping,”Max groaned as he attempted to roll over. He noticed the pull of something in his skin and quickly opened his eyes. “What the fuck?”he questioned as he looked at the IV in his hand. Looking around, he finally noticed he wasn’t in his nice, plush bed at home. He was in the hospital. “Fuck...”he groaned, knowing he must have overdosed again.

Theo smiles at her, shaking her head. “My career makes me happy, but you make me so much happier. I don’t know how I can explain that.” He smiles at the young woman, before looking to their son. Their son. It was going to take some getting used to but Theo wouldn’t change that for the world. He’s almost hesitant to say yes, but before he knows it the boy was moving towards him, and Theo stood up to pick him off the table. “Bud, I don’t think your tootisies belong on the tabletop.” He jokes, setting him down on his lap after sitting down. It wasn’t even a minute before Gabriel is grabbing at Theo’s head, successfully grabbing at bits of hair. “Eh, I don’t mind, my bassist has a daughter who loves tugging on my hair when she’s on my shoulders at sound check. I don’t get it though, they have their own hair, but are facinated by other people’s.” He laughs, bouncing the kid on his knee causing giggles to erupt. “He’s such a good kid, Mona. You did really good.”

Mona smiled as she watched the two. She never imagined that he would be in their son’s life. It brought a sense of relief that she wouldn’t have to do this alone anymore. “He got in trouble at day care the other day for pulling a girl’s hair...It’s such a hard habit to break,”she admitted with a sigh, smiling as she heard the little boy’s giggles. “Thank you....he can be a bit of a tyrant around nap time...but he is my whole world,”she admitted. “So..what do we do now?”

Aubrey gathers her things, quickly moving to follow him out the door. “Well I have a ton of nieces and nephews and working in peds has me around kids all day. Not to mention I’m working on transitioning my focus to OB/GYN since I’d like to move to an office job, and I can’t do that making rounds in the hospital.” She explains before regaining her focus. “But I want a kid because I want to add a human into the world who’s compassionate for others and has a kindness and a radiating happiness no matter where they are. A little ball of sunshine into my dark world. I see so much bad in my job, which is why I want a kid, and why I want to move my focus. To be a part of the good, raising a child and helping kids come into the world.”

“That’s noble...but I’m gonna warn you now. I was a terrible kid. I pulled hair, was so mean. If our kid is anything like me, we’ve got our work made for us,”he told her with a chuckle. “Where do you live? I figure I’ll have to get a place close to you so that I can see our kid easier...Wow...there is a lot of planning to do and we haven’t even had sex yet,”he told her with a chuckle.

Theo can’t help but chuckle slightly. “Romona, you could never be the reason my dreams failed. Kind of hard to do that when you’re the only thing in my dreams.” He’s reassuring, and wanting to reach out to her but knows it’s best not to do that. He didn’t know where her head was, and the last thing he needed was a very public fight. “I know when you’re lying. You get all uneasy in your seat and you fidget. You don’t have to pretend it was easy, Ro. You and I both know that babies are hard work, especially when there’s only one parent.” He sighs, knowing first hand how hard it was, his mom had raised him and his brother, and had come to the US to get away from their biological father who was a total trainwreck. Watching what his mom had gone through, and knowing that Romona had been through it herself killed him. “I know you are. If it hadn’t been for Josh I’m sure that you wouldn’t have hesitated to tell me. And I appreciate you looking out for my wishes, however your wellbeing always comes first to me, love.” Theo smiles, looking at the child in her arms. “Yeah? I’m glad it’s been all good things.”

Ramona felt her cheeks blush as the mention of her being his dream. She remembered how in love she was with him and how many nights she cried when she left him. Gabriel was her own reminder of him and she loved the boy even more for that. “I just..wanted you to be happy,”she admitted as the little boy shifted in her lap to take a full look at the man. “I won’t hide anything from you again..I promise,”she told him as she looked down at their son in her lap. “Do you want to hold him? It’s a lot different than holding a baby...he likes to pull hair too..I’ll warn you, but he always gives me lots of hugs and kisses,”she offered, placing a kiss on top of the boy’s head. Gabriel smiled as he started climbing over the table, not giving the man an option.

It surprised her that her brother out of all the people would be the one to give up the bachelor freedom to have a kid. “I mean if Fate is your sisters middle name then I definitely that is the case.” She smiles shaking her head agin before standing up. “Alright, well, I have to work in the morning. So… you wanna get out of here?”

“Yes,”he told her with a chuckle as he stood up, leaving a tip behind. “So...what makes you want a baby at such a young age?”he questioned as he opened the door for her to leave the restaurant. “Most women your age want to be out with the girls..not changing diapers every night.

Before he can even move another step he turns to her, looking her in the eye. “Josh… Josh told you not to tell me?” He’s rigid in his movements, sitting back down. “Mona like I would’ve cared about my career. You going through that is ten times bigger than any album or award. Far more important and far more life changing. God, I didn’t even know if I wanted to have a career. I was young and stupid and fresh out of uni, not wanting to do anything. So of course I listened to that man’s advice. But the b-“ he stops himself, realizing that he probably didn’t need to make things worse by cursing. “He was greedy and just wanted to make money off of me.” Theo felt so lost. His manager kept his own child away from him. And the love of his life. “Mona, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, had I known, had any of my crew known this wouldn’t have been this way. I can guarantee you that. You wouldn’t have been alone all this time.”

Mona rocked the toddler in her arms as she looked back at the man sitting down. “Theo...you were making it big..I just..didn’t want to be the reason your dream failed. I didn’t want you to think Gabriel was the reason you couldn’t be a star....Josh said a baby would ruin you and I just couldn’t do that to you,”she admitted with a sigh as the boy finally calmed down in her arms. She ran a hand through his messy curls as he peaked back out at the man across the table. “I’ve...been fine on my own Theo,”she lied. Truthfully, it had been hard alone. Her parents didn’t want anything to do with her since she wouldn’t tell them the father’s name. Being along through a pregnancy at such a young age had been the hardest thing she had done. She had wished Theo had been there for every moment of it, but the closest she could get to him was watching his shows on tv. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you....I did tell him about his father though... How he’s a famous singer and how much I love you and how much I knew you would love him..”
