It's my 5 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳
In honour of this incantation by Omnybus and their tumblr.
Rootin’, tootin’, toil n’ shootin’
Fire burn and cowboy bootin’
Eye of newt and spicy beans,
Toe of frog and denim jeans,
Whiskey, grits, n’ demon spittle
tossed into my iron griddle
With the tannin’ of our hides,
Somethin’ wicked this way rides
Latest Skyrim character, Abisayo. Half Redguard, half Altmer. Her she is with her arsenal.
New character for a new playthrough.
hi! i have no idea how old is your post about skyrim s3x mods, and feel free to delete this ask anyway, just wanted to add my 2 cents! i agree VERY much in that i would like more m/m content especially (f/f is possible most of the time; and calculated in). few other things: rape fantasy is super common, and, if you engage with such media sensibly, totally fine. there are a lot of people (women, too), who like to play the "victim" role. monsters are...a more rare kink, really, but not particurarly dangerous either. there is other shit in the adult modder community i'm SO uncomfortable with and think it's gross and would not want to touch it with a ten foot pole (like, i won't list here), but as long as it's tagged and warned for properly so if someone wants to they can avoid it, and people can seperate fantasy from reality, it's...fine :) you have to take care of yourself if you engage with content that could lead to something that's hella upsetting to you. but as far as i've seen, modders and other users are usually not being assholes and don't want others traumatized by their stuff, either :) also: i'm an user, not a modder, and afab, so this is just my side of things
Hi!
You had asked this a month ago and I’ll admit my time on tumblr is not what it used to be.
I’ll also admit, my thoughts on much of what I have talked about regarding sex mods has softened quite a bit. I still have my own boundaries, but you have to realize other people are gonna be different. And while my own thoughts have changed slightly, the post is still relevant for my thoughts at that time.
Though I might add an addendum to it, updating the post to be more relevant at this current point in time.
But I agree, as long as things are tagged properly avid moderate won’t get a shocking surprise. I also agree again that there should be more m/m mods out there for people. There are some, but they are so few and far between.
So I got Skyrim running on my Mac (Mac Catalina) through Porting Kit. I even got it modded, with the exception of animations. Seems FNIS will not run using Porting Kit. However, I have been steered toward a new animation loader called Nemesis Unlimited Behavior Engine. There’s even an FNIS esp that it can create. Gonna see how this works, will have more on this later.
The only other problem I’m having is this weird texture bug that’s visible in the images above. So far it isn’t real bad, but it’s noticeably annoying. Will see what I can find about that.
Also, this is Skyrim SE so nice to get that going.
The rest of the provinces watching the Skyrim civil war:
J'zargo: You can win any argument by saying "Shut up, nerd!" whenever the other person speaks
Brelyna: Actually, you can't-
J'zargo: Shut up, nerd!
GODDAMMIT!
Returning to Morthal and the Jarl’s longhouse after clearing Movarth’s lair.
As she promiced to investigate the troubles in Morthal, Thradra found the trail would lead to the small cemetery in the hold capital. She remembered the words from Helgi’s ghost that said “she doesn’t come out until dark.” This could only mean one thing, that there was a vampire plaguing this community.
Modding can be a minefield
Holy crap, modding in Oblivion is like walking through a mine field.
Ask three different people a good way to mod and you'll come up with three different answers. One thing they all would agree on is "don't use Vortex to install mods and don't use LOOT to sort your load order." After that, none of them agree on anything. One would say use Wyrebash. Another says specifically use BAIN. And the third says use OMOD to install mods. At least they would all agree to use BOSS to sort loading.
But the problem is that the one who says use Wyrebash will swear up and down that BAIN and OMOD are useless and don't use them at all. Then again, you get the same thing when installing mods for Skyrim. Same song and dance, don't use Vortex (which is actually pretty decent for Skyrim), don't use LOOT, don't use this or that, Bodyslide is terrible, so on and so forth.
And I'm not sure if it's just sad or grossly hilarious that even mentioning you use one mod installer over another to someone that they end up taking a personal offence to you using that mod installer.
But it's just as bad with mods themselves. When asked about a certain mod, my response always is that they might like it but I didn't (or that I found it a really good mod but the other person might not).
In the end, it should be use what you like to use and if someone asks, don't go off on a tangent/rant about why this mod installer/organizer is crap. The question wasn't "why are these utilities shit" the question was "what would you recommend for installing mods."
Game Modding
Everyone talks about how the modding community is so very great for Skyrim, but I believe there’s a couple of games which are really missing out in how well they are still curated for mods.
The first is Oblivion. Oblivion still has a vast number of mods being made for it, which is pretty good for a game almost 15 years old. It means there’s a really good fanbase and an excellent modding community still attached to this game.
The other game, albeit not an Elder Scrolls game, is Amnesia: The Dark Descent. There are still a large number of story mods being released for this game, which came out 10 years ago. This September will be the 10th anniversary of Amnesia.
For both of these games, they are incredibly well done and still has an active modding community. Best of all, both are really cheap to buy. Oblivion when I bought it on Steam was only 7 bucks. Amnesia is $21 with the Amnesia Collection (including Dark Descent and A Machine For Pigs) only $40.
As for modding, Nexus has a ton of mods for Oblivion with modders uploading new mods everyday. ModDB has Amnesia story mods and last I checked, the latest one was uploaded 17 minutes ago.
In a world where MMOs have really begun cropping up all over the place, sometimes it’s nice to sit back and play a single player game or two. While Skyrim is great (with it’s obvious moments of weirdness... THANKS BETHESDA!), Oblivion is still an incredible game (I will be posting a comparison of Skyrim and Oblivion in the future with my feelings and opinions on both). Amnesia is also a really great game, and a lot of the story mods being produced are equally incredible (check out Amadeus as a prime example).
