Favourite trick or treater this year is a toss-up between a tiny pumpkin who on being prompted by her parents to "say thank you, Orla" looked up at me and said very solemnly "FANKYUU ORLA", and a little boy apparently dressed as a Qing Dynasty official in traditional robes whose father explained to me that he was in fact a jiangshi - a Chinese hopping vampire.

Led through the mist, by the milk-light of moon, all that was lost, is revealed. Our long bygone burdens, mere echoes of the spring, but where have we come, and where shall we end?
