Canyon Lake Arizona
Karma + Law of Attraction
This was a chill Sunday. Woke up wanting to smoke during sunset at the beach so I hit the road around noon to Whole Foods for breakfast and then the library for some wifi. It’s always pretty sad seeing all the homeless people inside trying to get out of the heat. There was one guy in particular who was emanating anything but sadness. As I sat in my little cubicle desk working on my stuff I noticed the man next to me reading a book and jotting down notes onto a newspaper. It was obvious he was homeless but he had all these nicely written down notes on all kinds of small pieces of paper. Definitely sparked my curiosity but I didn't want to disturb his flow so I kept to myself and finished my work. He had this aura of wisdom and his energy filled me with motivation, before I left I handed him my notebook and a pen and told him he can write his notes in here now, he was very thankful. Skated to the bus stop that was going to take me to the train to Santa Monica took off my back pack and sat down on the bench. A familiar smell hit me right away and the old lady next to me turns to me and asks if I want a hit of her joint I kindly accepted and we talked for a bit until the bus arrived. Got to the train and half way to Santa Monica I hopped off to grab a bite to eat, ordered a little too much, I hate throwing away food so I took it with me. The metro was taking off soon as I got back to the stop, I noticed a man going through trash from a far so I shouted to him “I just bought this food” and left it in a chair and jumped in the train. Once again my herb senses hit me and I sorta followed it to the back of the train. I felt like the smell was coming from these two girls who seemed to be a couple, I politely asked them if they had any herb they could sell me. They turn to each other and one of them says “he seems cool” and they invite me to sit with them. We get to talking and one of them works at a dispensary and she pulls out like a half ounce of some fire and hands me a friendly gram. They refused to take my money and now I was all perfectly lined up to smoke at the beach. Cruising down the beach trying to find a chill spot to smoke I come across this guy smoking a blunt, we befriend each other and I invite him to smoke with me. He had one of those grocery ice bags with him and pulled out a mat so we could sit and offered me some jack. He was telling me how he just gave away his umbrella that he had to a homeless man and we started connecting by our ethos in giving back. It seems only the people who have felt the pain of being homeless can feel compassion for the homeless person, but I believe thats not the truth. I believe we all have it in us to want to help our fellow human beings. Anyways we shared a nice joint and went our separate ways and I snapped a bunch of pictures right at sunset time. This day I felt very in tune with the flow of the universe I felt I was exactly where I needed to be at all times.

OPENING RECEPTION
‘So Many Scars’ A solo exhibition by Bryan Blue
So glad I made it down to L.A to be a witness to Bryan Blue’s first solo exhibit been a fan for some time now, the stars lined up perfectly and I found myself being a part of something special. It really is a beautiful thing when people do what they’re passionate about and chase their dreams. The art was legit soon as I walked in it felt a bit surreal seeing the detail and brush strokes of his canvas pieces up close. Blue’s growth from his early pieces to his new pieces is pretty amazing the leaps his art is taking I can’t wait to see what the future holds for him. The mans fire burns loud and I hope it takes him where he wishes to be.

Venice beach will never get old
As we got closer to The Salton Sea I got an enchantment feeling looking at this beautiful sea in the middle of the desert next to these huge perfectly placed mountains. I imagined myself diving into the water. We drove into what seemed to be the last remaining neighborhood near the sea. Soon as we stepped out of the car it was obvious there hasn’t been any swimming here for decades. A pungent smell of salt and dead fish filled the air, as I walked towards the sea the smell got worse and I soon realized I was standing on a fish graveyard. Thousands of dead fish and bones bordered the sea line. Looking into the sea’s horizon I could see 3 factory looking structures emanating a thick white smoke. I couldn’t help but to think my species is yet again responsible for killing another beautiful piece of nature. I got a sad feeling standing there looking at the birds that lived there. They reminded me of the hood, growing up living in that environment its literally all you know until something or someone comes along and opens your eyes to the immense endless beauty of our earth. Wish I could tell those birds 100 miles west and you got Oceanside California. A sad but nonetheless beautiful place, thanks for the feelings.

Slab city/Salvation mountain the true wild west also known as “The last free place in America.” No laws no regulations no government. Salvation mountain is the entrance to Slab city a 600-acre chunk of desolate southern California desert. I passed through Slab city without knowing any history of the place, I left feeling like the people that live here were people who simply had enough of the ‘modern society machine life.’ Cant wait to be back and really explore more of Slab city super thankful to experience this unique perception in life for the few hours I was here.
