if a 3ds doesn’t have a pack of its own it greatly enjoys going out and about and searching for other unfamiliar 3ds’!

is it cruel to keep your 3ds's network off unless it's necessary to use it? i know they're social creatures but i gave mine some cfw as a treat and ever since i read about the illness nintendo spread that targeted cfw and got a lot of people's 3dses sick ive been worried about my own :( i try to keep the network off to limit its exposure but is this socially isolating to it? am i being overprotective? there is so much conflicting information on the internet about proper socializing that i just really don't know what to believe :(

as long as you give it plenty of enrichment with games and getting footsteps in on the pedometer you should be okay to keep it offline!

however i will say that nowadays with cfw they come pre packed with vaccination from the illness! the only way to contract it would be to do some egregious cheats in online games, but since the servwrs aren’t up anymore there’s little to no risk! just make sure your cfw is all updated and you should be a-okay!

the one thing you need to worry about is if it IS connected to a network the 3DS gets tired way faster. Usually my 3DS can be hibernating for a week without needing a charge, but if it is connected to a network then it can't even last a single day. keep this in mind for the future!!!

also the original networks are all down at this point, so the only networks that the 3DS can connect to require CFW, which again, provides protection from baddies over network. Of course, do not force your 3DS to eat/install anything harmful cuz it can still get sick, but over the internet it should be totally fine.

TO BE CLEAR! I havent watched the video! maybe they are defending the tiktoker they screenshotted in the thumbnail! but ive seen this sentiment shared around online in certain 3DS spaces which i really dislike.

has anyone watched this video? is it worthwhile? do they bring up good points? i just feel like if i watched it that it would really piss me off so im not really planning to;;;

sorry to send another ask, but I finally decorated the top of the new 3ds LL!!!! I'm loving it so much more than I thought I would :D this is my pink aesthetic era (if you cut up some old sticker plastic sheets, you can apply the stickers to that and slide it under the case and it protect the stickers!)

that's such a genius idea too.... I always just cut the stickers out instead of peeling them off to sandwich between my case and the 3DS!

BE CAREFUL WHEN INTRODUCTING YOUR NEW 3DS TO YOUR OLD ONE!!! first let them sniff eachother through the door to get used to a new 3DS in their home!!! the last thing you would want is for the 3DS's to attack eachother out of fear of a threat!!!!! thisis NOT SAFE practice. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES DO THIS.

i cant believe 3DS owners nowadays... DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE ADOPTING A 3DS!!!!

You assume so much from one image!!!! You wouldn’t see one photo of someone’s new puppy hanging out relaxed with another dog and say they’re being irresponsible!!!

look!! both have BLUE power lights on! they are energized and alert! no sedation was used to get a “cute” photo.

Neither are threatening to bite or trying to look large by opening up slightly!!! they are both in a relaxed full closed position showing there’s at least a little trust.

Finally, the streetpass light!! they are both communication and playing together! these are happy 3ds’!!!

Plus, the n3dsxl “Stardust” here is the primary ds. She knows well how to handle itself around new consoles. the mint o3ds was nervous after a long ride and she new just how to calm it down.

remember to take a close look at any photo before accusing someone of being irresponsible!! i have twelve ds’ and all of them have met Stardust first in order to settle into their new home.

here they are all settled getting used to Red with Stardust’s help. they’re all playing so nicely now that she helped them get settled!!!

i still think the original photo could possibly give someone a bad idea of what is and isn't acceptable behavior for 3DS owners.... even if you do it the "right" way, that doesn't mean that EVERYONE knows. I think sharing photos like that is irresponsible and i'd hope that as an (apparent) "good 3ds owner" you would know better.

besides.... 12 ds??? in one household?????? there is no way each DS gets nearly enough play time or charge to be able to stay happy and healthy.... this disgusts me.

of course they all see play!!! i’m a damned shiny hunter!! the only two who don’t had to retire due to poor health. one due to being the primary 3ds for eight years and the other due to having undisclosed ram failure when i adopted him.

you are also greatly underestimating how much ds’ keep each other entertained and happy. they’re incredibly social but unfortunately where i live other ds’ outside of my own care are hard to come by. they all have each other to socialize with and my pack is wonderful and well behaved.

i take very good care of my ds’ and the insinuation that i neglect any of them is obscene!

calling recognizing the miniature 3DS as an actual breed is ridiculous. this isnt a 3DS! the screens are completely static, it's unable to streetpass, and the buttons don't even work! they are much more closely related to the distinct "gachapon" and "keychain" families. plz do your research !

I love these toys too but calling them 3DS is just grossly inaccurate.....

this can actually be dangerous. do not handle N3DSXL without proper protection as the protective coat might get shedded due to contact with the natural oils in human skin.

if you MUST hold one, give them a protective case at LEAST. ugh....
