I keep carrying all the love you left behind.
Where can I put it down?
Dangerous thing, a woman's wrath;
For ships drown in colossal storms
And forests burn in ravenous fires
All at the command
Of her tears.
"I could more easily forgive his vanity had he not wounded mine."
~Elizabeth Bennet, Pride & Prejudice
And once the storm is over, you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. You won’t even be sure, whether the storm is really over. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in.That's what this storm's all about.
-Haruki Murakami, Kafka on the Shore
“Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing there is a field.
I’ll meet you there.” —Rumi
This morning, the sun endures past dawn. I realise that it is August: the summer's last stand.
Sara Baume, A Line Made by Walking
August rain: the best of the summer gone, and the new fall not yet born. The odd uneven time.
Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath
He's a 10 but he's a cat-dad.
So he's a 20.
"When did you know you loved him?"
"When he spoke of the love he lost, I felt no envy, only his pain. I wept the share of tears he refused to weep, in hopes that I can mend his soul with my own."
Daphne, daughter of the river-god Peneus, was exceedingly lovely. Despite having many suitors, she chose to follow into the steps of godess Artemis to be a virgin huntress. The sly Eros(Cupid), as revenge for god Apollo's mockery, pricked the lovely dryad with an arrow of Flight as well as Apollo with one of Passion towards Daphne. Refusing Apollo's pursuits, Daphne apparently pled her father to save her. She was then transformed into a tree; her hair leaves and her body encased into a bark. From then on, Apollo would wear a wreath of laurel in Daphne's honour, and it symbolised prophecy, purity, poetry, healing among Greeks and Romans.
“come back with a warrant”
i felt that. i shall start using that answer. it’s perfect.
"Medicine, law, business, engineering, these are all noble pursuits, and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for."
-John Keating; Dead Poets Society

Finding you can change
Learning you were wrong"

But in a solitary life, there are rare moments when another soul dips near yours, as stars once a year brush the earth. Such a constellation was he to me.
~ Madeline Miller, Circe
