"I did say you needed half a brain"
And he would have left it at that, continued his walk, until those words escaped the others lips. It wasnāt the words itself, more the way they were spoken. There was annoyance, passion, some form of emotion when he had insulted her, and sheād struck right back. But how she sullenly spoke like there really was no way off. It was enough of a change in mood to have Green halt briefly in his walk.
"Its an airport. Airports have planes."
The jumbled mess of memories in his mind begun to plague him once again, and he shook his head, trying to clear through the mess and work out what the problem was. Unfortunately, like trying to remember a dream, it simply slipped out of reach again, and he frowned once more, turning back to the other.
"Why do you think weāre stuck. We got here somehow, thereās no reason we canāt leave"
"You really don't know, do you?"
In a way, she almost felt sorry for him; sorry that she would be the one to break the news. How do you tell someone that they're now trapped on 'kill or be killed' island? Sighing, the girl began to fiddle with the brim of her hat, trying to decide how to word it. "It's all that bear's fault." Good start, good start. "We can'tĀ leaveĀ because he's keeping us trapped here - we're all participants in this sick game of his." A game of despair.
"Mutual killing." Kotone spat the words, a frown creasing her eyebrows. It was amazing, how now, she could speak almost calmly about it. Calm, meaning she didn't burst into water works. She'd cried out most of her tears earlier in the road, it seemed. Now, there was only a slight waver to her voice, but it was filled with acceptance. Grim, bitter, acceptance - and the want to survive. "To 'graduate'...you...you have to kill somebody and get away with it."
