She wondered if this torment would continue when she suddenly felt support from her waist lift her high enough that she could reach the ledge.

Of course, she was stunned by the sudden boost in height but, following the (kind) strangerâs words, reacted quickly enough to grab Shi-chanâs shrunken form.
[Luckily, the girl understood Henryâs intention right away and she followed up so as soon as she seemed to have taken whatever it was she was trying to get, he gently let her feet touch the ground once again and took a step back.]

[Since Henry had no idea what was it that she was trying so hard to get on her own, he didnât know what to call it. Was it maybe a tool? A coin? Maybe even a memento of hers. Whatever the case, Henry was slightly curious about it and that was the main reason for him to help.]

The story unfolding made her wonder for a bit what was this manâs fate. Abandoned by his parents, put into a strict school. She was all too familiar with this setting but seeing him talk about it so nonchalantly made her tilt her head.

She was blunt but what was she to do, she could do nothing about the parents nor about him since he was not in her jurisdiction. Sighing she moved toward him and spoke again:

[Now that was a reaction that Henry did not expect. The woman seemed to take pity of him but he was not looking for such by telling her about his past. He merely did so because he was too honest like that and he didnât find his past to be sad anymore, it was just a part of himself.]
Well, if you want to hug me Iâm not opposed but I donât think itâs such an awful tale! I mean, death is only a part of life, right? And well my parents may have never wanted me but I made a lot of animal friends in exchange so itâs pretty okay!
[Regardless of what he said, he had opened his arms to receive a hug since he really couldnât find a reason to deny a hug from a woman he had already said he found pretty.]

She was familiar with the dark arts and dark mages. It did explain a lot but at the same time she could not help the smile that appeared on her face. He was so upbeat that in a way she was worried about his sanity level. But as death, she could not judge him while he did not show her any hostility.
âI have to admit this is the first time I meet a dark mage not wanting to hunt my kind. itâs a bit of a reliefâ
Why would I cower away? Iâve been surrounded by death since I was little so I realized that death is just a part of life so thereâs really nothing to fear about it! As a matter of fact, I hope one day I can have a very gruesome death thatâs not painful! Tee hee~
[Those who knew Henry also knew how fearless of death he truly was since he was so fierce on the battlefield that people really believed that he didnât care about his own life and it might not be too far off from the truth as Henryâs thought usually was âIf youâre afraid of dying, just make sure you kill your enemies first so they canât kill you.â so he simply made sure to kill any enemies on his path so he could live himself.]
Why would dark mages hunt Death? I mean, most of our spells deal with death and all but I donât think anyone could really defeat Death personified!

[Being a dark mage, Henry was a human that was close to death every day of his life since his life could be extinguished not just on the battlefield but also everytime he tapped into the dark reaches of his magic. Still, being a dark mage was one thing, but Henry was really drawn towards death since he had been exposed to it from an early age and didnât view it as something entirely bad.]

A dark mage.. that would explain a lot of things as she looked at the soul and took a deep breath to be able to understand the male better. She would step back as she listened to him. Did he not value his own life? what would cause a person to laugh like that withoutâŠ
