Coney Island's Newest Roller Coaster Is Narrower Than Most Apartments

This week marks the opening of the Thunderbolt, a modern roller coaster looping and corkscrewing through historic Coney Island in Brooklyn. The coaster is a towering orange lasso with 2200 feet of track, squeezed into an unbelievably narrow space. Here's our up close and personal look at NYC's latest thrill ride.

You won't have to wait for the Thunderbolt much longer. The Maintenance Team is currently fine-tuning all technical aspects of the ride. This fine tuning will ensure that every guest has the best possible ride as soon as the first car leaves the station. WE. CAN'T. WAIT.

Congrats to the first riders on the Thunderbolt! Mr. Zamperla grabbed a quick shot of our President, Operations Manager Alessandro and an Engineer on their return to the station. The Thunderbolt is currently testing with an accelerometer.
