Wild Mouse at Cedar Point!
<- Previous | Start | Next ->
Opened: 2023 Manufacturer: Zamperla Height: 52 ft (15.8 m) Speed: 35 mph (56.3 kph) Length: 1,312 ft (400 m) My most recent ride: 2023
At last, we have well and truly reached the last Wild Mouse coaster on my list lol. What puts this Wild Mouse so far ahead of the others I've ridden is that it's less of a conventional Wild Mouse model with lots of back to back switchback turns, and is more similar to spinning coasters like Pandemonium at Fiesta Texas or Laff Trakk at Hersheypark. It does have a few switchbacks at the start of the ride, but the layout is more focused on twisting around through banked turns to really get your cars spinning.
If there's one word I would use to describe Cedar Point's Wild Mouse, it would be fun. The ride is just fun all around! With seven spinning cars total, six of them are themed to different mice characters. You've got Ziggy, Zaggy, Dizzy, Mazey, Chase and Larry. And then what's the 7th car if it's not a mouse, you ask? It's cheese! Look at it, it's so fun! The ride's presentation in the revamped Boardwalk area of the park, right along the beach and Lake Erie really looks great as well. The yellow and orange ride structure with the brightly colored mouse cars really pops against the blue sky and water and just brings a lot of life and energy to the area.
It also fits in really with with Cedar Point's lineup in general, they didn't have any kind of spinning coaster before they added this one, and it adds another ride the whole family can enjoy. I like how different the layout is from other Wild Mouse coasters and that it gives you a solid spin even if the car isn't off balanced. I don't usually ride Wild Mouse coasters more than once when I visit a park, if I ride them at all, but this one here I can definitely see doing once or twice on my visits :]
Thanks for checking out today's coaster post! Keep an eye out for tomorrow's coaster!

I don't usually walk through Sesame Street, as it is usually crowded. But walking past that section of the park, I always stare at their mini swing. I will admit, it did take me a hot minute to find the manufacturer (Zamperla), as for some reason the only sources I could find were from LogRide and Reddit, neither of which I usually use.
So I got to ride Top Thrill 2 three times last Friday, the day before it closed for “train modifications”.
This coaster is amazing!!! I rode in the front, back, and row 6, and while I liked the back the best, every seat is amazing. The launches aren’t punchy at all, but they seem to have a constant acceleration that impresses with each pass of the LSMs. The backwards launch into the spike is when it really starts picking up speed, and then you hit the spike, and the peninsula is just sucked out from under you, and then you’re just free floating with the whole point and lake Erie around you. Then you fall back down, hit the 3rd launch and are taken to the top speed, woosh up the top hat and then spiral down. In the back row, the whip feels like it is at the maximum allowable force - I was fully bent over the side of the train, and with my arms up, I get why they modified that one support. Insane head chopper moment. Then you coast down the rest of the straightaway and slowly come to a rest, and then you get right back in line.
I was disappointed all day Saturday that it did not open, but 9 laps on Maverick and the last ride of the night on Millie eased that disappointment.
I can’t wait to return after its reopening is announced!
