I do hope there is a multiverse out there, and I do hope there's one out there that hasn't lost *Insert your favourite artist* and they've continued to make amazing art far beyond when we lost them in this universe.
You know what's disheartening? Realising you're surrounded by "arts" types who've had to switch lanes. The awesome dancer who had to get a desk job because they have kids, the actor who's running events, the music who's now doing a tech job. They're all absolutely guns at what they do, but I think there's arts things they'd rather be doing.
These people wouldn't be doing what they're doing, I don't think, if we had Universal basic income, if everybody could eat and have shelter financially sorted. I think the world would be better for it if they were doing their thing.
RIP Jerry Lewis
I had a sad moment today, I remembered Jerry Lewis is no longer with us. I had forgotten.
SESAME STREET: BLOOPER REEL âł Starring Robin Williams & Elmo | Original episode aired 03/15/1991.
If I could hop to alternate realities, There's really only one I would want to go to, one Where Robin Williams was still alive, and didn't have a disease that Robbed him of himself. I'd want to see his stand up throughout the last 7 years, I'd like to see him as the live action Genie in the Aladdin remake.

While we're talking about outlandish claims to ownership, I invented the word delicatessen and would like to trademark and copyright it.
Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis c. 1947
This is the great vaudevillian Sophie Tucker, who hailed Martin and Lewisâ first performances at the 500 Club and said they would change show business....
Once upon a timeâŠ
Did someone say something about living long enough to see yourself become the villain yet?
Iâm goin back to 2010 yâall want anything
Can you bring back Prince or Bowie?
i had a very illuminating conversation with a guy about 10 years younger than me that really put this change into perspective, which is this:
i have a very distinct memory, in my childhood, of the moment of my disillusionment. i believed that grown-ups knew what they were doing, and that the things that seemed so obvious to me had to be obvious to them, too (things like DONâT GO TO WAR IN IRAQ, for example). i believed that, and had that belief pulled out from under me, so my disillusionment comes with a sense of betrayal.
a mere 10 years younger than me, this guy has no such moment or memory. he never believed grown-ups were fundamentally competent, or good, or reasonable. he never lived in a world where things didnât feel constantly careening wildly out of control. thereâs no betrayal in his sense that the government has failed him - of course it has, it was always going to. he doesnât remember a time pre-bush, or pre-9/11, or pre-iraq war. this is just what the world has always looked like for him. so itâs not really a sense of âdisillusionment,â actually - his generation never had any illusions to lose. theyâve just been in this world so long itâs all theyâve ever known.
I just bawled my eyes out watching a video essay about Mash. I think I know why, the emotional content alone could do it, but I think some of my fondness of Mash comes from the simpler time, back in the days of when we only had 4 TV channels (really 6 but we had terrible reception of two channels) taped things to VHS, and the fact I was a child/young adult. I was 8 or 9 when I watched the finale and cried myself to sleep, it was all over, even though I knew the reruns would last forever.
Lizzie Bennett Epilouge
We went out last night for a small celebration. End of the diaries, Charlotteâs promotionâŠ
âŠamong other things.
At Lydiaâs request, we didnât go to Carterâs.
And she felt much more relaxed.
it was a lovely night. and then, the strangest thing happenedâŠ
All the way from ManitobaâŠ
Apparently, when Ricky heard about me and William, he just had to fly down FROM WINNIPEG to congratulate us in person
and while he was here, he might as well take the opportunity to talk to William about his plansâŠ
and projectsâŠ
and the lucrative opportunities in the Canadian digital media markets for Pemberley Digital
Charlotte finally convinced him that she was already working on a deal with Pemberley Digital. That made him happy.
He finally left. And went back to Winnipeg. I think?
After that, nobody really felt like staying out much longer.
We decided to go home earlyâŠ
so we could face tomorrowâŠtoday, I guessâŠand make plans for the future.
Tonight, I've got the sads.
I'm laying in bed, about to go to sleep and start to miss a dear friend of mine, Tom. It's been nearly 2 months since he left, there not much I can say that hasn't already been said, I'm still not used to him not being here, I still miss him. I'm Lying in bed, tears streaming down my face, and I just plain miss him. I imagine us sitting out the back of his, having a cuppa, just chatting.
Tom: You alright mate?
Me: I miss you
T: I miss you too mate.
M: It's been so long and while I can think about you, and talk about you without crying, tonight I'm just plain missing you. It hurts to think you're no longer in this world, that there's a little less joy, and it seems like world has gotten crazier since you left. There could only be 10 people at your funeral because of a pandemic.
T: We had some good times though didn't we?
M: Great times
T: I'm glad, and I'm thankful for them
M: Me too
T: Just know when it's your turn to go, I'll be at the big pub in the sky, with a pint, an ear to bend and a karaoke tune ready for you.
M: I look forward to it, I'll let you know what you missed, even though you're watching on, with a vibrant shirt (in my mind it's your moustaches and monocles shirt, but you've probably found something cooler now) and pommy hat. Miss you mate. Miss you heaps.
I just want to find a nice girl, we fall in love and buy a largeish property and homestead hard.
