“You’re not nervous are you.” Haya tapped their back, smiling with her briefcase at her side. Motioning to the car to unlock it, “go ahead, it won’t bite. Its new too, so you get to almost take it for a test drive yourself.” Its not so new Haya hadn’t taken it around herself, but just to tease the other in case they had nerves.

“We can even tap our destination into the GPS for an easy guide, I know the best place after all!”

“I’d be lying if I say I wasn’t.” Alice didn’t gave much though as to what sort of car Haya commutes in till she laid her eyes on it once they were in the parking lot. Immediately, she’s thinking up ways to avoid getting a scratch on it. She slowly made her way towards the car as if she’s approaching a lion inside of a cage while listening to Haya explaining some of the features. 

“How do I unlock it? Do I need to press a button?” The detective had taken the keys out from her pocket and was carefully examining them.

“I can imagine. I meet a lot of screw balls myself.” Skie said. “I tend to deal with the dirty underground stuff myself. So gotta look a bit weird for the roles. But hey, it gets the job done.”

“Glad you asked. I’ve been tasked with tracking the movements of a Chinese-backed Triad organization that goes by the name of the “Red Dragons.” They are responsible for smuggling weapons, rare art pieces, the typical stuff. But they might have gotten their paws on something otherworldly.  That’s the big concern right now. I’ll give you more information once we get inside the car.” 

“Yeah.” Alice suddenly had a look of surprise when she learned the woman she’s talking with does undercover work. It certainly explains the choice of style she has going. Sounds like something she’d have a hard time getting use to if she ever gets an undercover assignment herself. 

“Alright then. Where did you parked your car?” Otherworldly things aside, the mentioning of the Red Dragons and their ventures has certainly peaked the detective’s interests. Dealing in rare art pieces? More than likely they’re stolen and there’s been a series of art pieces getting robbed from galleries, something that she’s been looking into. Whether it’s connected to the triad or not she’ll need to look in more deeply but, for now, that case is on hold.

“Maybe.” Eloisa shuffled behind them, looking down as she mused any ideas that came to mind. Perhaps the former pick, was merely because of the person before her. Even then, in her long life through wars, even disguised as a man, it wasn’t uncommon to enjoy those fleeting moments with people sharing a glass of something.

“Please.. I’d love one.” Eloisa moved to sit, settling down as she took a varied set of deep breaths. “All through my life I’ve been trying not to fall into someone else’s hands, and all through my life I’ve followed conflict to make a difference. Now I’m just, here? How do you adjust to that sort of change.”

“Alright then.” The homunculus went into her kitchen, took out two glasses from the cabinet above, then gather a variety of bottles. Later, she grabs ice from the freezer. She’s not one to grab bottles from the bar for her own use, as tempting as it is. Instead, whenever she’s restocking her bar, Katherina would buy a few things for herself. 

She returned to Eloisa about a minute or less, setting down a glass in front of her guest at the coffee table but not before placing it on top of a coaster. “It’s called ‘Alternative Medicine’. I like it cause the recipe includes honey.” Katherina explained before taking a sip from her own glass, savoring the taste of the extra honey she added to it. She loves honey. “I’m hopeful that you can adjust. If anything, I want to help you however I can.”

“Sounds nice.” Eloisa answered, trying not to merely say yeah she had been through tons but, there really was no other answer but that. “And its still not over, not till I deal with the woman tailing me. Once I’m free of her, then I can finally do something like this..” Eloisa commented. 

“A little place maybe, I’d love to be a bartender for some night club you know? Someone that can chat away with music, see some people off with a drink, and wash the counter.”

“But I am sort of a killer, and I don’t know if I’d be able to adjust to something like that you know? Spending your whole life balancing life and death, can you really just. Stop?”

The homunculus frowned, listening to Eloisa speaking while she searches for the keys to her apartment. Who was this woman, besides her being a vampire, and why is she so obsessed with her? “Is that so? I can certainly teach you how to mix a variety of drinks when you do become a bartender.” She’ll admit she was taken aback at Eloisa’s career choice there for a moment.

Katherina later unlocked the door to her apartment and showed her guest inside. “I like to believe it’s possible. There could be a way, but it’s hard for me say.” She commented. For all her life, she hated violence and she certainly didn’t relish it when there’s no other options to avoid it. She gestures towards the couch. “Would you like something? A drink, perhaps?” Katherina asks.

“That’s totally fine but you know what that means?” Haya reached into her purse, and lobbed a set of keys at Alice. “You’re the designated driver, because I’m having a nice drink no matter what and you’re doing to have to carry me home! Kidding of course hehe, ready to go?”

That also meant she would get to drive Haya’s brand new car, some 2020 luxery car, fitting of a rich girl turned detective. Or they could take Alice’s.

“That’s fine with me.” She says as she catches the keys tossed her way with both hands. Alice later stuffed them inside her pocket while she closed up the file she was going over and set it neatly to the side. Then, she fetched her trench coat, put it on, and smiled at Haya. “Alright. I’m set!” 

What the detective doesn’t realize till she sees it for herself is that she’ll be behind the wheel of a fancy, luxury car. And, it’s a current year model as well!
