In progress: Donald Chump write-up.
Cambridge, MA
TUE NOV 24 - 6:00 PM
Harvard Square
#IAmMikeBrown 29.7% of the population in Cambridge, MA are students. In Cambridge there are 14,775 undergraduate students and 21,058 graduate students. 6.5% of these students are Black. Many of these students entered college in August or September of 2014.
On August 9th, 2014 Mike Brown was gunned down by a relentless police officer. He was set to begin his college career a week later, yet this academic opportunity and his life were taken away from him by a cowardly police officer. After his death, Mike Brown was dehumanized and demonized by the media and his murderer. We are here to remind you of his true identity. He was a student. A student just as valuable as the 14,775 undergraduates in Cambridge. On November 24th, 2014 a grand jury deemed his life disposable and delivered no indictment of the cop that murdered him. On November 24th, 2015 join Black Lives Matter Cambridge as we continue to raise awareness around the killing of Black Lives and lift up the Black students of Cambridge. We stand to fight for the lives of Black students. Mike Brown never got a chance to step into his classroom. We are here to make sure that this will never again happen to a student of color. We deserve our lives. We deserve our education.
My thoughts, exactly.
In today’s news: A young black kid in Ferguson ended up shot to death in his back yard, surrounded by police. Ferguson PD insisted it was suicide. Even though every witness on the scene claims the cops killed him and there’s an actual audio recording of him begging them not to shoot seconds beforehand.
No words any more; only The Oprah Winfrey Look of Sadness and Absolute Disgust ™ can cover it.

Loooooooovvvvvvvveeee him. ❤
Darren Wilson had SIXTEEN witnesses say he committed murder in front of them in broad daylight. If he were a normal person, he’d be facing 20+ years in jail and/or the death penalty. But he was a cop, so instead he gets $1 million dollars in donations and a sympathetic article in the New Yorker. So, yeah. This is so disgusting, I can’t even put it into words.
if he were a normal person he AT LEAST would’ve gone to trial. This is what people don’t fucking get. HE DIDN’T GO TO FUCKING TRIAL!!!
Darren Wilson. A man who knows he is absolutely doomed in the afterlife. He’ll be waiting for you, Darren.
People can go on late night TV and cry about Cecil the lion. That’s fine. No one would EVER be allowed to go on TV and cry about Tamir Rice. At least, not without a shitload of complaints. Just saying. Americans are only OK with a certain, safe type of grief. As long as it doesn’t threaten the status quo, that’s the main thing. You can mourn a lion and hate an evil dentist. You can’t mourn a dead 12 year old killed by a reckless, racist cop. No, not ever.
#SamDubose rest on.. 😣
Oakland Community Demands Justice for John Crawford III at East-Side Walmart | AmericaWakieWakie
January 18th, 2015
Pictured: John Crawford, 22, was shot and killed Aug. 5th by police in the Dayton suburb of Beavercreek, Ohio, while holding a toy rifle in a Walmart. He was remembered today as protesters shutdown an East Oakland Walmart and placed stickers on products reading “WARNING: Persons of color picking up this object may be subject serious injury or death at the hands of Walmart and police”. It has been 163 days since Crawford was gunned down by two police officers, neither of which were indicted.
This action, like several others across the Bay Area this weekend, took place in response to the Anti-Police Terror Project’s call for a weekend of reclaiming MLK’s militant legacy of direct action, a call which came initially from Ferguson Action. The Anti-Police Terror Project is a multi-racial, multi-generational coalition of concerned and committed institutions, organizations and individuals committed to ending state sanctioned murder of Black, Brown & Poor People.

Finally.
I wasn't aware of the ban at all until I read this story. But now that I am, I have to say how incredibly irresponsible it is. And to add insult to injury, the FDA wants to instead put a one-year ban on gay male donors after they have engaged in "homosexual activity"? Who are these people? Why are you singling gay men out? Millions upon millions of others engage in "risky behavior" in this country and countless others. Are they next in line to be subjected to the same prejudice? Or is this country still so bothered that it can't give credit where credit is due?
In any situation that wants to be thorough and fair, there are systematic protocols. In the case of how police deal with the public, these exist.
In the case of how the public deals with the police, however, usually the media is tasked with the job of getting the story from police for the...
