Pornography is prostitution with a camera which turns every man who watches it into a de-facto cuckold. There are no rational grounds for prohibiting prostitution while permitting the legal consumption of pornography. Pornography is in fact far worse than prostitution from a social perspective; it warps sexuality and creates paraphilias, promotes perverse types and forms of sex, reduces the ability and inclination to look for women, it requires no energy, builds no confidence and is consumed by children when the brain is at its most malleable and vulnerable to perversion.
A certain section of men are not fit for marriage for one reason or another and will need to turn to something for a sexual outlet (sterile prostitution is also eugenic in this respect). A further class of men who are too young, too old or recently divorced find themselves in a similar situation. A certain section of women are natural whores who are not fit for marriage either. The effect of prohibiting prostitution is to create an enormous, unhealthy sexual demand. The present āsolutionā has been legal hardcore pornography but this is a solution far worse than the cure. Of course, there is a smaller and more dangerous market for prostitution regardless of the laws anyway.
If not fulfilled in legitimate or quasi-legitimate ways, this unfulfilled lust will have socially corrosive effects. One is a dramatic increase in rape and genuine sexual harassment. Women in the workplace are routinely propositioned by employers which destroys families, sows social conflict within the business and leads to an inefficient allocation of labour. Another problem is a greatly increased number of broken marriages, as a man who has sex with a prostitute does not threaten to break up a family as an adulterous affair does. In the absence of prostitution, a culture of casual sex developes which reduces the sexual value and self-respect of women generally. For most women to be virtuous, a minority must be whores.
