Our final performance
So today is the big day, Tidy is 20 years old and we hang up our headphones as The Tidy Boys. It’s been a fantastic journey and so much fun playing hard house music, while having a few drinks and jumping around on stage with my best friend in clubs and venues all around the world. Andy and I never actually took our djing career seriously, it was always ment to be just a bit of fun, two bald blokes playing music we made from our little Tidy record label while making each other laugh, if people danced it was a bonus. It was 16 years ago in March 1999 in Jersey we first played together as a duo, and it was the summer of 1982 I first became a DJ - yes I’m that old.
So tonight will be a celebration of all the great times we have had and although it will be sad to see it end, I have a burning excitement within to move onto the Tidy Boys next phase, radio, podcasts and online TV broadcasts, which we hope will push Tidy forward once more to the next level, the next 20 years need to be as good as the first and the only way that can happen is if we have more time to steer the ship from the front, putting more time into the brand rather than juggling our other businesses, family time and life on the road and at airports. Tidy has always been the first to do many things within our scene, maybe more than anyone remembers, so the future is more important to us than the past, and after tonight that’s where we put our efforts.
It’s great reading all the nice comments and it seems we have been a big influence to many, people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel. We know over the years The Tidy Boys don’t appeal to everyone in the scene and to be successful you have to have a good percentage of haters, but “the few who do are the envy of the many who only watch”. Andy and I would like to thank everyone who have supported us over the years and although it’s a big cliche, without you lot and the wonderful, passionate Tidy community we would be fuck all. So finally, tonight, make sure you have a good time, enjoy our little party and as always Keep It Tidy.

Tidy 20 Weekenders - The End
Tidy Weekender 20 - where do I start? It's been fantastic journey since we started the Weekenders back in April 2002, they have become one of the most successful and longest running dance events in the UK, a project we never dreamt that would be loved by so many. The Hardhouse scene and particularly the cult of Tidy have created a clubbing generation like no other, it really is one big happy family that not only love the music but love the party and the social gathering. I now always compare our scene very closely to the Northern Soul scene of the late 60s / early 70s, an underground cult of like minded people who all share a common interest of living for the weekend with their chosen family, with a real passion for music, dressing up, and of course getting high on either the atmosphere or a substance of their choice. (or both). The Tidy Weekenders have brought 1000s of people together and created some wonderful memories, people from all over the world have descended on these very retro 1960s holiday camps and had the time of their lives. Many of us have met many new friends at these events, some have met their future wives or husbands here and even conceived their children here. The Tidy Weekenders not only bring Clubbers together they also bring all of us to one loveable level, DJs mingle and interact with everyone, there is no superior "them and us" mode you find at other large events, it's one big happy family. When I return home from the first weekender I cried with a mixture of emotion and excitement, I knew from the start it was to be a magical journey, I knew we had something special. The Weekenders were more than just a club event, they had a magic that could never be beaten. Some people may think we put these events on to make ourselves rich or to line our pockets, if they only knew, yes back in its peak the events did make a healthy profit, but as club life and going out to events is nil as popular as it was in 2005 things have changed. As many professional promoters know it's still tough out there and to put a big event on like a weekender is high risk and you don't get much change out of 240K to put an event if this scale on, a few years a go we lost £62K on a weekender and we could have stopped then, However we battled through and continued to make back the money and pay off our debts. There are easier ways to make money than putting on a weekender, it's stressful, you need a great team behind you and it's high risk with a fine line between profit and loss So I would like to thank that team that made tidy 20 weekender happen, they are a special bunch who didn't get paid much, they worked their tits off and without their passion and dedication we could not have achieved such an amazing event. Now it's all over I wonder what will happen next, with no more Tidy weekenders the door is open for someone else to maybe take over, if they are willing to risk everything then the rewards can be fantastic, I don't mean financially but I do mean with the knowing fact you can make 1000s of people happy. Thank you to ever person who came to all our weekenders, you made it happen, you made them special.

NYD...Celebrating with our chosen family
IT'S OFFICIAL (Tidy Boys statement - Dec 6th 2013)
Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys & Girls.
After much discussion, speculation and negotiations, we are very pleased to announce that as of the 6th December 2013 Tidy Is back… with the Tidy Boys. Seen by many as the World’s greatest Hard House brand, Tidy over the last few years has slowly slipped into hibernation, something that has happened due to natural causes and business circumstance. However as the people that gave birth to this loveable label, we realised that the brand that means so much to so many, had to come back. Tidy is more than just a label, it was and still is a way of life for so many, a passionate community who want to see it rise to its former glory and once again take centre stage within club land.
Tidy is back… and will now sit alongside our new Ideal brand, we plan to bring you the best of the old and the new, we continue our mission to put the fun and quality back into dance music, with a blend of great new music from Ideal, classics revisited from Tidy, big events, small events, random events and unique collaboration events which will add a new twist to everything you have loved before.
2014 is going to be a very exciting year for people who like it hard, with both barrels of the Tidy Boys hard house gun now loaded with Ideal and Tidy and the nonsense and mayhem that can create. We won’t be doing this alone either, we will be working with friends & colleagues who made Tidy what it was originally… our A-Team is in place.
To celebrate this moment of hard house history we are going to get the ball rolling with two things; one huge and one very exclusive. First up, the Tidy Boys invite you to come to Bed with them at Crasher in Birmingham on NYD for an intimate gig for 300 dedicated followers to raise a glass, rejoice and reminisce about the past, present and future of Tidy. It’s our exclusive private party to celebrate taking Tidy back.
Secondly, the big one just got bigger... April 4th, 5th, 6th 2014 we give you the Ideal Tidy Weekender... the best of both worlds ... Tidy Friday (Army Theme) ... Ideal Saturday (Jungle Zoo Safari) and a Sunday showdown with IDEAL vs TIDY a final night Cyber Battle, with everything but the kitchen sink thrown at it. We are very excited, it the feels right time to do this, we need to finish what we started and we hope you will join us as we continue the journey that began 18 years ago. Tidy was and still is very unique, something that has an identity and ultimately something that makes us all want to be part of it again.
The Story Continues ... Keep it Tidy Amadeus & Andy The Tidy Boys
