2016 in Memory: Another things to remember
So it was an amazing journey, this year. It filled with a lot of waiting, hardship, adventures, challenge, courage, and love. I was facing a lot of new experiences which show me a different kind point of view. Now I’d like to reminiscing some of the memories from this whole year.
January: The first month of the year. I was just finish my part time job of being a project assistant at my laboratory in campus. I was enjoying my break after the whole semester doing field trip here and there and I was going on a 1 day trip with my besties -Ajeng- to museums around Jakarta at the end of the month.
February-March: I was having a problem to remember what did I really do in this 2 months. Maybe because I was practically being a jobless freshgraduate. I attended many jobfair, wrote a lot of CVs-motivation letter-essay-and blah blah blah. The point is, I decided to seek for a job. I decided to experience professional life as a freshgraduate, though it didn’t turn out to be an easy one. It’s hard. Very, hard. Seeking for a job. Well, I was soo hopeless at these time with a lot of my friend who graduate at the same time with me has already found a job. So most of time, I was wasting my time watching korean drama and reality shows in the midst of waiting. And hoping. For a good news coming to my email inbox 😂😂
April: Finally, one of the company I applied for a job is inviting me for a final interview. I mean, this is my first final interview after spending a quarter of the year being a jobless one. I was excited, and doing my very best on it because at that time I’ve had enough and soo tired of doing nothing haha.. The interview was going smooth and again I was in the midst of an uncertainty. I spent several weeks in Jakarta and went to some of the artspaces there with my another besties, Fella. Oh oh!! Talking about Fella, she and Sari was also graduating last April. I was kind of sad and truly sorry because I couldn’t fully celebrate their graduation and couldn’t take a picture with them properly at our favourite sides in SITH. Best part of this month is Biology 2011’s Wisnight with AADC cabaret. Luv!
May: This may be the saddest and the happiest month of the year. The saddest thing is I got to move back to Semarang from Bandung. It was so sad packing up things in my room, cause there’re just too much memories that room holds for over 2 years. But it turned out, the reason why I had to move out was the happiest thing occured of the year. I finally got an offer for a job from my current company. I was thinking a lot if it’s better to accept it or not, but eventually I decided to accept the offer. Yay!
June: I spent this whole month in my home city, Semarang, while waiting for the training schedule which started on July. I was quite enjoying this month cause it was a rare moment for me to just stay at home, more than a month! I had a lot of serious talk about future with my family and was taught about being a good human being, life values, you know that kind of stuffs.
July: My first month of training!! It was really exciting. I got to meet a lot of new friends and inspiring people. I learned a lot of new things I’ve never imagined I would. I started working with deadlines again after 6 months not functioning my brain properly. I visited many places that show me a whole new side of the industry. Mostly, there’s only happiness and excitement on this month which I truly grateful at.
August-September: I got my first pay this month! Yay! And I was doing another research at my OJT Plant. Again, I learned more about the industry. Deeper. Plus, I got a chance to see by myself how this industry worked from the big view to the tiniest details. I got to inroduce myself from the first man on the plant to the most unnoticeable one. I got to work on shift and change my biology clock which is sooo tiring. Frankly I think I complained a lot with my work, but thanks to my roommates -Dila-Valen-Austin- and dorm mates I don’t feel soo alone. You know I don’t really trust people but they just so considerate to each other which make me feel safe and comfort. Thanks guys! At this time, I started to open myself more to them. Of course we argued a lot. Even, most of the time. But this togetherness that I found very intense and deep, started to make us closer to each other.
October: Me and my friend at this training program was back from each of our plant. We presented our research and got another lesson from our mentor. Due to the hectic schedule, we spontaneously decided to went on a trip. Where? To Lampung! Why? Because I accidentally said “Sekalian aja ke Sumatra, Lampung!” and suddenly it was like giving a brand new idea because most of us haven’t had a chance to step the land of Sumatra Island. Oh Gosh! I was regret it for a time, but then when we really made it happen, I was soo thankful for saying it. The beaches and the panorama was very amusing. It really refreshed our mind which was fulled with presentation things. And the most important things, it was the most cheapest trip I’ve ever had. Thanks to Valen, our chamberlain. Hahaha…
November: This month, we were going back again to the plant for the second OJT. I was really determine to do my best this time, before the unexpected things happen. It was already a month for me doing the research and suddenly I had to stop because of something I can’t tell. I was asking some people for advice but it just didn’t enough, until the worst part happen. I remembered, I was soo lame at that time. I just couldn’t help but cry for hours. It was unbearable cause I had held it for days, so with another things that really put me down, I couldn’t avoid it anymore. Thankfully my roommates was really really really kind enough to support me at that time. After I had enough, I was bounce back to start all over again and promise to myself that I won’t be soo blue again over this problem. Instead, I worked my ass off to finish my new research in the last remaining 2 months. Though it gave me fever and I lost my voice for a week. Hahaha.. Poor me.
December: I still couldn’t believe, that I just past the last month of the year. This month I decided a huge transformation over me. Now I’m wearing hijab. After all these years my mom never get tired to remind me about this commandment, I think this is the right time. I can’t no longer postpone it cause I can’t imagine the consequences my parent have to carry, later. Well, we never know. One day we’re happy living in this world and another day we can just laying on bed unable to move our body even an inch. It frightens me out of hell. That’s why, yeah “Begitulah”. I hope this decision will carry me to a better life. Aameen 😁
Yeah, that’s all my summary of the whole months of the incredible 2016. Honestly, I just (again) spontaneously want to recall my memories along the year. I typed this whole story also, spontaneously. That’s why if you find a lot of typos and messy grammar, I’m sorry 😁
I’ve made another accomplishment to achieve on 2017. Hopefully it’ll be another great year and I can pursue everything that I plan, and also the same goes to you. Aameen 😊😊
