                   pauses   in   eating   her   own   food   /   puts   it   down   to   look   at   her   cousin   with   a   raised   eyebrow   &   roll   of   her   eyes   “didn’t   know   regret   had   a   TASTE.”   hunger   gone   now,   would   simply   throw   it   away   if   she   wasn’t   too   comfortable   to   move   “you   sure   you’re   not   regretting   that   we   didn’t   just   go   get   dunkin’ ?”

                  “ it does now, and this sorry excuse for a burrito is to blame. ”  tries to take at least one more bite of the disappointing thing in front of her, before making yet another face and placing it back down.  even if she’d paid for it, it just wasn’t worth it.  “ fine, we should’ve gone to dunkin’. i just thought it might be fun, checking out the new place! how was i supposed to know they’d invent and introduce us to the flavor of regret ? ”

“I blame you for this.” Bianca scowled at Kat, as if she hadn’t just appeared on the veterinarian’s front door a bloody mess with a hissing cat in her arms. Shoving the animal at her, she said, “You know how to deal with… this, right?”

Is it bad that she’s more focused on the hissing ball of fur than on Bianca? Kat takes the animal immediately, pulls it close to her chest, and uses her thumb to pet his head --- an attempt to calm him down. ‘Shhh, you’re fine,’ she coos, turning around to make her way back inside her home, leaving the door open for Bianca. ‘Where did you find him? He’s TERRIFIED.’ and in pain ; she can tell.
