One of them kinda years..

Lot's of dude's getting hurt on the BMX's this year it seems, as Ray would say, way she goes boys..

Made it over to the Sunshine coast to hang out with Wade for a few days and he ended up over shooting the box jump to flat and getting a couple fractures in his lower back.. 

Luke G snapped his coller bone at Kush and Dilly busted his wrist, summer fun! Heal up duders.. 

Managed to snap a couple pics there and some more shots from the trails..

There was a lot of nice rides at the Rods 'N Hogs show and shine but as things went I was slow getting there, and early on Wade overshot a flip to the flat and ended up having to get the ambulance ride to the hospital to which they had to send him home with no x-rays because the machine was down. Bummer... Then it rained, sweet! Ahh well, what can ya do..

Before it all went wrong...

Well that was certainly a crappy way to end and start the years 2011/2012, by the way anyone who can return my hard drives or computer will get a sweet reward. On the bright side, I'm at least positive I'm not the dumbest guy on the planet, I think my old pal has filled in those shoes to a T.

Here's to you chummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmp.

So with the great advancing of technologies and digital pictures and whatnot, my advice is have two or three back-up hard drives. To make use of an over quoted movie phrase, " fuck my life." Well at least the film is still kicking around, on a side note i was pretty sad to see Kodak go under, i will miss the ektachrome big time. And with the disappearance of my hard drives goes all the video footage too so it'll be a little while before I can come up with another vid but there's projects underway and already need to fill up some hard drives. SnowboardBASE...

Here's a few shot's that still happened to be on my cards so last summer wasn't a total write off and a couple from this winter in Squamish.

Alex has been shredding the park a bunch this winter so far, l-i-v-i-n! A couple hip hoppers as the sun dips behind the coast mountains for another trip 'round the block.

And what would it be without an ass shot! Pretty low eagle count this year from what I've seen and heard, maybe i shoulda poached the dump, who knows coulda found my snowboards eh pukey?

Live the dream

For as long as you can anyways.. Some of the crew and myself made the journey to the 2011 Heavy Nettle BMX jam-a-thon. Check out some pic's below!

Our pilgrimage to Vancouver Island consisted of Fil and Oli who had not yet been to the mecca known as "Adam's place" and Dale and myself along with the ever present shadow of the manbearpig. We gathered at the h-bay bowl after a short trip into the city took most of my money and almost made my head explode, a quick session in the bowl and off to the ferry lineup for a sunset cruise to Nanaimo. Pretty much dark by the time we get off the boat so, food, beer, campsite, sleep. Thanks to our neighbours for hooking us up with the wood! 

Rise and shine! Off to Timmy's for coffees and eats and a Saturday morning cruise down the Island Highway to van isle's finest of set's,good folks, and good times! The sunshine prevailed for another year, milking any and all moisture out of our bodies to be replaced with the sweet nectar the brew! The fellas got to business while I carted gear around,snapped pics, and searched for misplaced beer's and lightstands. Good times!

So after the sun baked us all day it was party rock time, a lot of kids come crawling out of the bush's for the saturday night affairs and mayhem ensues. Zip line mid run collisions? Smooth ace.. Back at camp rev we discuss tales of BMX adventures with friends old and new while the aliens observed us from above. ( or are we all crazy? ) Maybe. 

Poor Fabio, tired from the sun and drained from riding, he needed back to real world. I thought it would come to tears when he realized that there was no left handed Lucky's. 

abducted in the night?

We awoke to perfect skies and no recollection of abductions, and after some food in our belly's and a little love to the dirt the crew was riding again with a few stragglers while other people decided on heading to town and finding swimming holes. 

After some riding, more lolly-gaging, general slacking and a round of high 5's we made our way to a swimmin' hole on the way to the ferry. KIds...

Rolling into Nanaimo we got deceived by the ferry sign and ended up making our way to the Jingle Pot campground where the owner hooked us up with a sweet deal, thanks for helping out a bunch of skidly BMX'ers! 

Thanks once again to Adam and Jessica for the hospitality! Good luck with the future, kids! 

Hopefully i'll get the video edit put together sooner then later!

Feed 'im rum guv! I'm not really sure what that has to do with anything. Although there was quite a bit of drinking at the Big John Bates Grindshow, good times! How can you argue with a nurse holding an angle grinder?

A moment of reality.

So yeah, I don't have any details yet but my friends lost a real good buddy. I'm sorry for the loss to the BASE community, I know he meant a lot to a lot. R.I.P. Ted.
