6 Things I've Learned From Grocery Shopping in my Twenties

1. DELI-MEATS, YO. 

Hit the deli and skip the prepackaged lunch meat and cheese. Hang out with the deli guy and make a friend. The food's fresher and it's not processed and packaged by some big corporate marketing company. (Disclaimer: I work for a big corporate marketing company)

2. FUCK GRAPEFRUIT

Grapefruits are the worst - the most mischievous of all the fruits. They lure you in with their aura of health and chic-ness. It's a fool's errand. They taste shitty unless you cover them in sugar.  

  3. BOOZE

Alcohol should be less than 20% of your total grocery bill. Probably.

  4. EAT FRUIT.

Hit the produce section like you mean it. It's cheap, tasty, and healthy. Just remember to eat it quick so it doesn't spoil.

  5. BE A GROWN-ASS PERSON. BUY VEGGIES.

Steamfresh it. Veggies in an instant. Treat yo self to a balanced diet. Vitamins and minerals FTW.

  6. LOOK GOOD.

Always dress to impress. By far the most important advice on this list. Perhaps it's just my overwhelming desire to meet a beautiful woman in the produce department (I'd ask her how to tell if blueberries were ripe or something), but I adhere to a no sweatpants policy at the grocer.
