dear tinker knight,
i thought i would write back to you again after you kindly reached out to me. would you like to hear updates on the things i've been crafting?
well, i'm more than willing to tell you!
i've been trying to get in more physical activity. i crafted a ballet barre with scraps and pipes. i know, not very interesting, but i did make a boat motor! well... I'm trying to at least. the first one, after use, it made a loud bubbling sound and oil started to gush out from it. i'm too nervous to try anything with it. i've never delved in waterproof things before. do you perchance have any advice?
with resolve,
Mina @hellohollower
p.s.: thorne has gotten into tinkering too. i don't remember if i told you. recently he crafted an ankle brace and crutches after i sprained my peet. i didn't need them, but it's starting to heal at least! plus it was very thoughtful. i've been teaching him the basics of repair as well. he seems to have it down!
Good to hear from you once more! I am glad to know that both you and your friend are well. Know that I do see the joy in a build made out of scraps as well... I might go the same path and find a way to stay in shape, too, since I do stay in my shop a lot.
As for your issue with your boat motor, I do have some experience from repairing a former colleague's submarine – and, more recently, building a toy boat. Here are my two cents: make sure to utilize corrosion-proof metals such as brass, bronze, alloy steel or stainless steel (just to name a few). Though, your problem might reside in the exhaust housing or the engine. Isolating the engine should be your utmost priority since, as you must know, any contact between water and the internal components could trigger a malfunction.
Hope that I could be of help!
"Eya Tinker! I got two questions for ya. First, do you like kids? Like...Do you enjoy their company. And, why make toys for kids? It's not like I dont respect your work (You helped fix Skelly's favorite toy for heaven's sake), but why toys?" - Skeleton Knight
Hi there! Thank you for the ask.
1. As much as it can cause me stress to make sure that no kid gets hurt in my shop, I do like them. At that age, you can let your thoughts run wild and come up with all sorts of things. It brings me hope.
2. To be frank, it's a mix of things. My main goal was to make up for what I've done to hurt the land, though it does tie back to my last point as well. And the fact that I especially enjoy manufacturing automatons, what with how surprisingly complicated their mechanisms can get. And all this joy and awe in the form of bits and bolts can fit in such small steel forms!
Though I will add that my stance on toys came with time: if my past self knew that I would "waste my skills" on "mere play-things," he would not take it well.

"REALLY?! THANK YOU, BOSS!"
Glad to help!

This is a literal "Hammerhead" shark created by artist Matt Sanders.
The sculpture is made from 685 reclaimed steel hammer heads and weighs 500 lbs (about 227 kg). It took approximately 2,500 hours of work to weld together. Sanders even used sledgehammers for the eye sockets and ball-peen hammers for the eyes to give it a realistic look.
It was displayed at the Aquarium of the Pacific in California and remains one of the coolest examples of upcycled art out there.

...I don't know what my goal was here. I just went to write a post, passed out, woke up, hit "post" then went back to sleep.

Im not even going to ask for your hat. Im just here to politely recommend you get a better wardrobe. The outfit you currently possess is quite dull!
- Yours truly. Mr hat! 🎩
It's good for my job. A 3 piece suit would just get in my way.
Happy pride month, Tinker Knight!
Happy Pride Month!
I wish for it to be a good one for those it's for. (though, I will say, I've had some thoughts for a while... I don't care much for love, but at the same time, I... do care for it. And I don't care who it's from nor who it's for, but... ah, that can't be, I'm all mixed up...)
