LESS IS MORE
Two months at work and I was given a salary increase for a ‘commendable work’. It isn’t the money that made my heart jump but the thought that my hard work was valued in just a short period of time that made the difference. What I get here is not even 30% of what I was getting from my previous employer in Malaysia , but I’ve never felt happier and fulfilled. From living in a high-end area in KL to living in front of a rice field in Bali, having 7 pairs of working shoes in Malaysia to just one pair in Bali ( and is even close to shoe sole separation anytime ..) I can list a hundred things that have changed since I chose to live and teach English in Bali. Change was drastic and painful , but it has taught me to be more grateful even when things are are their worst. Life is tough but the universe always has our back.
