“You’re being ridiculous! And you say that because apparently you’re not used to living in the same house with a man.” He paused. “You are single, right Longbottom?”

He shook his head. “Ali! That’s–you know…ah, I give up. You’ll never learn from this wise older figure standing right next to you.” He sighed. “I’ll help you with it if you promise not to say my feet smell for the entire day again. How ‘bout that?”

“No, they are making my eyes water! I have lived in the same house as men. My father happens to be male, and my brother!” she mock glared at him. “None of your business. Cartin!”

She burst into laughter holding her stomach. “Wis-e” she wheezed not able to get her sentence out. After a few moments she managed to calm down. “You are not a wise older figure at all! A wise older figure is someone like Miss McGonagall!” Ali winked to let him know she was teasing. “I promise.”

“I’ll have you know my feet don’t stink; and this is my desk. See? There’s a pile of paperwork right next to it and not on it because I do my part. it’s you who always procrastinates, remember?”

“And what do you mean cheese? I smell nothing!”

“They do they are repulsing me- urgh I just got scent of them again!” She narrowed her eyes, and kicked back in her chair. “Well. That is a pretty impressive pile, but I raise you that pile and show you this pile.” Opening her bottom draw she dumbed a massive pile on her desk. “Procrastination gets a lot of work done!”

“That’s because you are immune to the odour that being emitted from your feet!”

“Sir. Can you please remove your giant smelly feet off the desk. You are making the whole office smell like gone off cheese!”

Feeling her arm lock with his, Broly swallowed and worked hard to keep his composure. Well, more to regain it. He looked at the ground before nodding and looking at her. “So how have you been? Not thrown into anymore walls I hope.”

Alice could feel her heart thumbing against her ribcage as they walked linked arm in silence till he broke it with his question. “I’ve managed to avoid walls!” she smiled at him trying to hide her nerves. “How about you been up to anything exciting recently?”

“It’s the perfect plan, Ali! No no, it’s perfectly alright, I’m just not the most experienced in that sector is all. What’s his name? Is he cool? Is he kind? Right. How not to terrify the potential partner, got it. Be yourself, hygiene standards…um…Dress to impress? Is that the saying?”

“It is the the perfect plan! His name is Broly. I work with him. May not be the wisest thing to do, but I really like him and I think we have something special or at least we could. Be myself got it! Oh Stormy Weather I don’t think I need to be worrying about that at the moment. I don’t want to scare him off. Dress to impress is the saying? So like a little floral dress or something cute?”

“It’s settled, we’re the smiling superheroes! Dating advice? Ali have you found a fella? Okay, okay, advice! Uhmm…Well, I probably won’t be much help, but anything in particular?”

“We will fight all sadness and nastiness with our smiles! Yeah, I know it’s awkward to ask but I just need some guidance. I have found a really nice guy, and we have been on a date. I just want to know how to progress things without terrifying him off!”

“Right. That sounds good. Um…would you like to lead the way or…actually walking side by side would be nice.” Broly ran a hand over his face. “I’m sorry. It’s been a while since…I’ve gone for coffee with someone.” He was normally cool, calm, and collected. Not with Ali.

“Walking side by side would be best,” she smiled averting her gaze to the floor as a blush lit up her cheeks. “After-all we can carry on our conversation side by side.” Deciding that if both of them were nervous wrecks they’d never get anywhere quickly, she plucked up an ounce of courage and linked her arm in his. “I’ll lead the way.”

“Yes, right…Where…uh, where would you like to go?” Okay, he had only gotten so far in his thinking. Well, it was more that his brain suddenly stopped.

“Well, if you’d like we can go to the place I go during my breaks?” she sensed his nervousness which only made hers grew causing a delicate blush across her face.
