Roommate Request

I’m currently living in an Inn and would like to reside in an apartment. If you are willing to take me in as a roommate please contact Toucan Inn and ask for the call to be transferred to Room A01. Thank you.

Jamie frowned at the request he had just hung up on the board. He didn’t want a roommate. But owning an apartment was expensive… And he couldn’t just live in an Inn, that’s pathetic. He sighed. At least it would only be temporary until Jamie was able to earn enough money to buy himself a farm. He quickly turned and walked back to work. Hopefully his lack of cell phone wouldn’t make it too hard for someone to find him….

  Kasey had been looking for a roommate to save money, so it must have been fate when Kasey stumbled upon this request. There wasn’t a name on the request or much info, but Kasey decided to go ahead and call. Kasey picked up his phoned and dialed the number for Toucan Inn and waited for the call to be transferred.

  “Yo! I’m calling about the roommate request. My name’s Kasey.”

Jamie hopped up when he heard the phone in his room ringing. He rushed over to pick it up. When he held the phone up to his ear he waited for the other person to talk first. (If it turned out to be someone he didn’t want to talk to he could just pretend he wasn’t there.)

“Hello, Kasey. Are you interested in allowing me to move in with you?” Oh that sounded pathetic. How else was he supposed to word it??, “It’s Jamie, by the way.”

Restocking || Open

Lest was at his usual shift at the Gemini General Store, but this time it was just him there. That was fine, because it wasn’t too busy. So he wasn’t overworked. But it sometimes got a bit lonely when customers didn’t come in for a while…

So Lest had spent his free time cleaning up the shop. Funland were very clear about a tidy and professional working environment, and Doug would get in more trouble than he did if an inspector decided to pop by and thought the place wasn’t up to scratch, and Lest definitely didn’t want Doug getting into trouble - Especially if it was because of Lest’s negligence. 

He’d just mopped the floor by one of the shelves, and had noticed it was running low on items, so had just gone to get some more… Which all went fine. He was good at his job, thank you…

And then, as really was just his luck, he slipped on the wet floor… Falling to the ground and bringing with it everything that was still on the shelf, plus the box of products he’d just brought out of the storeroom…

Great.

He moaned, staying on the floor covered in and surrounded by ridiculous trinkets, more out of frustration that pain. At least no one had seen that.

Jamie was at the general store looking for seeds. Not that he had a farm yet... but he did have a notebook filled with drawings, layouts and information on how his future farm would look. He liked to see if new seeds ever came in stock. He’d need to know what to edit once he actually did get a farm...

As he turned the corner he saw one of the workers fall to the ground. He stood there in silence trying to decide what to do.

He didn’t really want to help the person. That’d require interacting with someone, and he wasn’t here to make friends. But... the seeds were right by where the person had fallen.

He slowly stepped around the person on the floor and the trinkets scattered everywhere so he was in front of the gardening area. There weren’t many seeds of course, since it was winter, but there were a few. Grass mostly.

“Excuse me,” He said to the worker who was still on the ground, “When will you be getting next season’s seeds in?”

Chaos at Harmony || Jamie & Raguna

Jamie had heard about Harmony farm. It was really nice apparently, and the person running it was apparently very successful. He wanted to check it out.

After he reached the farm he looked around. It was quite nice. The animals seemed happy and the plants and produce were all well taken care of. This is what his farm would look like. Once he got one of course...

He continued to walk around the farm until he heard footsteps. He jumped and turned. It must be the owner of the farm.

He stood there completely still for awhile. He wanted to sprint away but the man had already SEEN him. Heck! They were staring each other down right now!!

“H-hello.” Jamie said slowly. He wasn’t really sure what to say. What would one say in this situation? I’m trespassing because I wanted to see the competition in this area. “Cold winter we’re having.”

Hello! Okay so, here’s the deal. I’m kind of strapped on cash right now, so I decided to go mining to see if I could find any valuable jewels that I can sell for a pretty penny. But… there’s a bit of a problem. Apparently there’s a monster rumored to be in the cave? I’m not sure I really believe it myself, but at the same time I can’t be too sure there isn’t one. With that to consider, I would really rather not go alone and have some surprise encounter without any way of defending myself, so… would someone like to accompany me? Jamie felt ridiculous at the request board. Perusing over requests trying to find a way to earn cash... what if someone saw him? Then they’d know how not on his feet he was. How embarrassing....

He shook away his thoughts to focus on the requests. Someone was looking for a partner to go mining with. Mining was always very lucrative! Especially if they’d be giving him a share of what they earned... Maybe he could go mining too. Then he’d make even more! Though he would have to buy a hammer first... That’d eat up all his savings. But, hey, he’d make it back later after he sold all his findings.

He quickly jotted down the person’s number so he could call them on the Inn’s phone. Maybe a cell phone would make a good investment after all...

Back at the inn he rang up the number leaving a message.

“Hello. This is Jamie. I saw your request for a partner to go mining with. I’m willing to join you. I’m not really sure about monsters, but I have been down to the bottom of the mine in the past so I know my way around fairly well. We can meet tomorrow at the mine at 12:00pm.”

He hung up. Now that he was finished with that he’d have to go buy a hammer.

Jealousy || Jamie and Neil

A short shiver runs along Neil, when he notices he’s still at it. Being who he is– personality and appearance wise– he was used to weird looks, you could almost say immune but exactly how long has it been since he’s felt eyes on him?

He’s well aware it’s Jamie– I mean who else could it be? But he isn’t too sure why. Why was he glaring? Why is it directed to him? Why is he being so god dang creepy? He figures it’s because he told Jamie to man the counter while he handled the animals but was that really it? I mean, he only told Jamie to do it cause no one else was there and handling the till was part of the job description. 

He raises his head and shifts his eyes to the latter and wonders exactly is wrong with the kid. Honestly, all his staring was making him self conscious and the fact that he was wearing of his eyes irritated him. He deliberates opening his mouth, wondering how far the guy will go in regard to his blatant staring before closing it. He can’t curse him off, he’s a co worker and he’d no doubt be in trouble with the boss found out.

With a click of his tongue and a glare at mirrors the other’s, he thinks:  Two can play at that.

Jamie jumped, startled when his coworker began to glare back at him. He quickly tried to recompose himself. Why was he glaring?? He was the one who actually had to be working with the animals!! Pay attention to the animals you idiot!!

He quickly looked down at the things in front of him pretending to be busy. After a few seconds he looked back up at Neil to continue glaring but Neil was still glaring at him!!

What’s his problem?! Jamie felt his face heat up. He quickly pulled his scarf up over his face to hide his blush. He wanted to go yell at him. Tell him to stop being so smug!!! To stop showing off!! To stop looking down on him...

He bunched his hands up in his shirt to try to calm down.

Jealousy || Jamie and Neil

Jamie didn’t hate his job. He liked working with animals! It’s the working with humans part he’d like to do without. He hated having to interact with customers, especially once that didn’t know what they were talking about. But almost worse was his co-worker who was a total know-it-all.

Jamie was at the counter organizing some of the boxes of eggs. He looked up and saw Neil working with some of the animals outside. Jamie stopped everything that he was doing and glared at him. Neil would always get uptight when Jamie worked with the animals. Like he’s BETTER or something. Which he’s NOT.

He’s not better. Not better at all. Not in any way. Animals like Jamie just as much as they like Neil. Maybe even more! Jamie was going to be the best rancher in the world one day, so of course they’d love him!!!
