My clan leader, Chiyo, is entirely blind! Her familiar helps her navigate the palace she lives in as well as helping her with bureaucratic things like meetings and discussions with the different sections of the clan.
She also has appointed assistants to handle all documents for her, and read all of her mail for her. (Hamanatsu and Masamune)
Morion has mobility issues from repeated injury and experimentation on herself. She also has ADHD.
Her lab assistant, Serpens, keeps a close eye on her while she works to make sure she doesn't overwork herself or worsen her condition.

a day late plus ive already talked ab my disabled dragons but shhhh i want to talk more ab them.............. also long as hell post mb gang
rezs was paralyzed from a war wound and currently works as a tailor! boysenberry and velvet made him a bunch of custom furniture so he can work without fear of fucking up his back for the next week :) boysen also made them a sled for mobility! the plateau does have ramp systems for them to use but theres a construction project to make them more accessible for larger dragons like himself
quints got an undiagnosed skeletal disorder that weakens the integrity of her bones so she uses braces !! she almost always has her wing braces on, but only wears the others "as needed"
hatchetfish got possessed </3 so hes got bad brain fog and problems with nausea so he stays in his room most of the time sorry king hit you with my nausea beam someones gotta have it
angel was born missing her arm, her coworker recently enchanted her a prosthetic as a gift but she mostly just uses it for fancy outings
warforges wing leather is rotted and their joints are rusted > robot arthritis . they also take advantage of the ramp system of the plateau! since theyre like 1000 years old they dont understand any of the modern writing either so a couple of the residents are working with them to add translations to preexisting signs
enisu is trying to learn lightning magic as a nonlightning dragon which led to her getting severe nerve damage in her hands/forearms (loss of feeling and tremors) bc of this she has trouble writing and injuries on her hands often go unnoticed until they get infected
bewylderbeast has a similar deal with loss of sensation but can still feel pressure! just not texture, temperature, hardness, etc . since they work as a toymaker (tactile job) they focus a lot more on the visual aspects rather than the tactile nature of toys :)
ophalia has some bad scarring on her face that limits the mobility in that area + pulls up the lip on her right side which tries out her gums and exposes her teeth to faster decay . she focuses a lot on her hygiene after she got an infected tooth bc of it and went through hell
inmortui uses a cane due to an old injury in his youth . he does better some weeks, which he often uses to spend time with his husband and children instead of working <3
butterfly has bad spinal issues which is worse since ze is like 80% spine and works as a jewelry maker (long periods of time curled up in one spot) . it spends a lot of time in the bathhouse to relieve the soreness

Zeare is the leader of The Sanctum of Outcasts. He lost his sight early on in the founding of his clan in a battle with a Ridgeback, the only reason he survived was thanks to his Guardian, Ezra. His thermal vision still works somewhat, though it's not as precise as it used to be and is getting worse as he ages. He also has quite a few old battle wounds that cause him chronic pain but is managed through a combination of Nature and Plague magic. It's not perfect but it allows him to still move around his clan with minimal assistance. His daughter Phantasma also assists him, she's in line to take his and his mate's place eventually so she's with him in order to learn most of the time anyway. His clanmates have come up with a variety of accommodations to help him as well, including but not limited to; carvings in the floor and walls so he can identify where he is within the tunnels of the Sanctum, a unique greeting system that involves flapping wings or clicking claws that started as a way to alert him that someone was there and evolved into the norm for everyone, and magical braille signage on doors and entrances that can be altered with various extra information.
Osiris is entirely non-verbal, so in addition to being a Fae and not showing much facial expression naturally, he struggles a lot with communication and being understood. He also wasn't around other Fae much in his youth, and because of this learned body language from other dragon breeds, leaving him without much knowledge of complicated Fae crest expressions.
As he got older he learned to harness his magic in order to create glowing pictographs in the air that allowed him to get basic ideas across, but it wasn't until he met Faye that he started getting his confidence. She was the first person to actually take the time to learn how to communicate with him and the first person he was able to have real conversations with. They developed their own language using his pictographs as a starting point and they freely teach anyone who's willing to learn. Watching the two of them have a conversation with each other is like watching a mini light show.

so i'm about to go and rename most of my dragons, so i'm only going to talk about this guy
Brambles used to be a Aberration, but his other head, Thorns, got cut off in an attack from a certain group of Zealots. He was found barely alive, a skydancer scroll was used to try and save his life, but it left some deformities: his right wing is tiny, his right eye is blind, and has chronic pain on his right side (he also has "scars" there, looks like vitiligo). He wears a blindfold as the skydancer's empathy magic/antenna is pretty overstimulating (he is using this as an excuse, he does not want to see himself)
note: in my lore, breed changes leave types of "mutations", and any scars or injuries they had before translate over, sometimes in strange ways.
note 2: there's a big difference between ancient dragons and modern dragons in my lore. All dragons are made of magic, Modern dragons are kinda a blank slate, their magic depends mostly on where they're hatched, but is generally more 'flexible', shapeshifting, to some degree, comes naturally to them, they usually have a smaller, humanoid form. Ancient dragon are made of more concentrated elemental magic, they cannot shapeshift into said humanoid form, and regardless of where they're born, they still keep their base elemental affinities (ex. Gaolers have ice magic even if born in the fire flight)

so my guys live in a monarchy, the last empress was a tyrant, and there was a huge class divide. Long story short, her daughter overthrew her and has been rebuilding the empire from the ground up. Right now there is one section of Nevergreen (the city) which has been outfitted to accommodate the disabled. Is there a problem with shoving every disabled person into one small section? Well, yeah obviously.
The city is currently being rebuilt, and at the same time the new government is trying to deal with the rampant crime problems among the lower class, while demolishing the upper class entirely, and also updating so many records that haven't been touch in years
note 3: the disabled people are not forced to stay in that sector, it's just the only one with proper accommodations (it's like the equivalent of 2 apartment building)

I don't have super coherent thoughts right now but
Swell is blind, my own riff on what Facet eyes would do to a dragon. (Fantasy logic) Because the lense is warped, he sees better underwater than in air. In day to day life he spends much of his time submerged despite being a non-aquatic breed. This has led him to build up a sub community within the clan based on the healing and freedom water can offer. Within this group I have a dragon with chronic pain named Burke whose aches are eased by the water. She spends a lot of her time with the aquatic dragons but would also venture out to mingle with the rest of the clan.
Not sure if she matches the pride of it so much, but I have another dragon with chronic pain and resulting mobility issues. Her name is Empire and she cannot fly without assistive devices on her wings (represented by the steampunk set). She is incredibly bitter towards her "weak flesh" and wishes she could replace more and more of herself with robotic augmentations. Over time she's come to accept it a bit more and find things she can take joy in despite/including her difficulties.

It irritates me how canon Plague tends to interpret "survival of the fittest" as meaning "survival of the physically strongest," so my Plague subclan is centred around it meaning "survival of the best adapted," which is the actual meaning of the term!
Summerwrought here is a former Pinkerlocke dragon. He was abandoned as a hatchling because of being blind due to canon-Plague beliefs, but his mother Zola adopted him and nursed him back to health. Now he's his clan's herbalist, with a seeing-eye Infestation Hound named Lichen. Summerwrought mostly uses his sense of smell in his work.

My girl Plasmosis has narcolepsy with cataplexy! She works as a manager for the clan's resident radio station, and to accommodate, her office has a whole separate chamber for naps and magical "alarms" set to call in staff for when she suddenly falls asleep on the job. Luckily her job isn't too intensive, as the station only really has one radio host who needs supervising, and she gets assistance from her familiar, a magical Seastar, for sleep paralysis and cataplexic attacks. She also sees a team of dream mages for help with her insomia and daytime sleepiness.
She's a bit of a grump, though, with zero tolerance for tomfoolery. It doesn't help that her only radio host, Raiju, is a real handful even on good days.
thank you so much for noticing the scars under his prosthetic. i like to add details to my dragons outfits that often go unnoticed and i appreciate when people see stuff like that.
It was a really great detail! The enhancement apparel on its own could just be a robot boot or something, but layering leg scars under it really sells the fact that he's actually an amputee and the leg is a prosthesis! I love little touches that enhance the visual storytelling like that <3

I love the importance of both seers and scavengers in their culture, because that covers my entire little Maren family <3
I love the confirmation again that not all of them need to be scaled and can have the tails of marine mammals instead, and that arctic Maren are much fatter than tropical Maren (also I want to see some of these funky abyssal Maren as familiars next please FR, they sound badass o-o)
I love that they changed 'they can't breathe above the surface at all' to 'they can breathe above the surface but not for long, and it isn't easy' so all my comics of them hanging out on the beach and docks still work
Also shout-out to this lovely lady, because little Tarni already loves collecting shells and was going to have a similar scavenging job herself when she grows up, along with her best friend Grub (but I'm going to continue drawing them both as little kids because they're adorable)

taking this as an excuse to ramble about dragons without drawing anything because my head hurtsss
Rafa used to be a high-ranking officer in the Earth exalted army, but lost most of her wing in a battle and was forced to retire. She moped around for years until meeting Lin during a Rockbreaker's Ceremony event. She was convinced by Lin to move to Podsgarden, which was lovely, but she found it very boring until she recognized a need for a town guard. Now she is the Captain of the Guard and trains dragons and beastfolk to be able to defend the town, mostly by patrolling for highwaymen. David is Lin's other good friend and the reason she recognized Rafa needed some help. David has PTSD and insomnia, and chronic pain from lots of ancient battlescars. Thankfully, Lin is an herbalist who specializes in medicinal teas.
Banquo is deaf and uses a common sign language that was developed long ago by a community of mute Fae dragons that mixes head crest movement and hand signs. It is easily adapted to anatomy like feather crests and large ears, but dragons without head decoration can also use wing motions. Banquo can also form handwriting in the air using colorful paint-like magic for quick communication. His friend Donalbain, who is a centaur with dwarfism, acts as interpreter sometimes (he uses his big horsey ears for signing).
Sagan lost an arm in a portal accident! Luckily his mom is the CEO of a cyber-enhancement company in Goldensparc and got a state-of-the-art magic robo arm to use as a prosthetic. It works well enough to do complex spell motions with, so that's great. Triske has arthritis in their legs and uses a cane whenever they have to walk around for extended period. Walking is uncomfortable at the best of times for fae dragons, but its often necessary when doing things indoors.
