Robin’s egg shell I found during my morning walk last weekend. At first glance, I thought I’d be getting some type of blue color match, but I think this is in the family of aqua green, what do you think?

I Googled “variations in Robin’s eggs color” and this is what I found:

American robin eggs typically display a range of blue and blue-green colors, with variations from pale ice blue to brighter, more intense shades. The specific shade can be influenced by factors like the bird’s health and the time of year, with earlier eggs often having a more intense hue.

The blue or blue-green color in robin eggs is due to the presence of the pigment biliverdin, which is deposited in the eggshell during formation.

Pantone 2191 color match.

Shoebill Stork glass charm from Ueno Zoo in Tokyo, Japan. My family and I went to visit Tokyo and Hokkaido area in the summer. I got to see one of my favorite birds, the Shoebill Stork! 😍 It’s so cool to see this giant dinosaur-looking bird in person.

We also got to see some parts of Hokkaido. I especially loved the lavender farm. So beautiful! And of course, I had to stop by the Totoro store in Tokyo 😊. If you’d like to see the photo of the Stork and some of my adventure pics, you can check my Instagram account by the same handle.

Pantone 209 color match. Red Dragon flower. A friend gave me some Red Dragon cactus cuttings. One of them had flower buds. They smelled kinda like rotten meat which attracts flies. Gorgeous but stinky 😁 The shape reminds me of the monster from Stranger Things. What do you think?

Pantone 426 color match.

Smooth black rocks from the Perissa Black Beach in Santorini. My family and I went to Greece for Spring Break in March and had an incredible time there. Truly one of the most beautiful places on earth. Since it’s low tourist season, we could enjoy the places fully. It was supposed to be a rainy season too, but we had gorgeous weather the whole week we were there!

Pantone 680 color match.

A leaf from my Variegated String of Hearts plant my sister gave me that almost died but came back to life 😅 Good thing I decided to hang on to it and gave it a chance. It survived on 4 leaves then it grew back again after a year 🙌 I was so happy!

I bought the smallest one I could find in a big box of sea urchin shells. I didn’t know they come in many beautiful shades of colors. Wish I took a picture of it, forgot! 😅

This week was Spring break for my kids. We didn’t travel anywhere and decided to just do staycation 😊 My husband & I took a day off on Monday to go to the Houston Zoo with our kids. Or at least that was the plan. The zoo was “like a zoo”! 🤪 The line was so long because all the school districts in the greater Houston are doing Spring Break on the same week this year 🤷🏻‍♀️ So we decided to just hang out at the nearby park, got some vegan gelato, and rented a pedal boat. It turned out to be so fun and relaxing! We had a gorgeous day with a cloudy sky and lots of cool breeze. On the walk back to our car, I saw this tree that was completely covered in what I thought were red leaves. Turned out they were red maple seeds! Never saw this type of tree in Houston before. I took some for this color match. It was a truly lovely day 🥰
