Hello! I’m sorry, I don’t know the answer to this question. Frankly, I’ve never thought of him as having this kind of issue. Self-destructiveness was a consequence of drug abuse. But that’s just my opinion.

But I had that feeling that someone was watching me. I turned abruptly. One of the Adélies was about two metres behind me, staring up at me, motionless, unblinking. I turned again, walked a hundred metres and then quickly looked back. The penguin had matched me step by step. It was standing there perfectly still, two metres behind me, looking up with that same measured stare. We repeated this game once, twice, three times. It was playing statues with me. Each time I turned it was motionless. Each time I walked, it walked with me.

Hi, yes I’m fine. Thank you for asking love! <3 Actually, I’m still in shock because of what happened about a month ago here in in Italy, a 21 yo Italian guy of Cape Verdean origin beaten to death by a bunch of “savages” I guess, sorry I don’t even know how to define those people. I don’t think I’ve ever been affected so deeply by the death of someone I didn’t even know. Sorry for this little rant but as of now I can’t pretend that everything is back to normal.

This is devastating. This is so wrong. On the 6th of September, Willy Monteiro Duarte, 21 years old, was beaten to death in Colleferro (Rome) by a gang of 4 mixed martial arts fighters. Four against one. How vile and abominable. Killing for the sake of killing, killing because you enjoy it. There are no words to describe such an outburst of gratuitous violence and hate. Willy was just defending a friend. I do pray and hope that justice will prevail and that the world will change. He will not be forgotten.

this needs to spread outside of italy. 3 days ago willy monteiro, a 21 years old  italian boy, was beaten up to death by 4 people. his fault? he was trying to defend a friend. their names: marco bianchi, gabriele bianchi, mario pincarelli, francesco belleggia. since willy had capo verdean origins and had dark skin, one of the aggressors relatives commented what happened with: “what did he do so bad? he just killed an immigrant” following alongside the demands of justice. the journalists describe them as four boys with the cult of tattoos. but they’re just fascists.

FOUR FASCISTS KILLED A BOY. SAY HIS NAME, WILLY MONTEIRO. SPREAD THE WORD.

i just finished one of john’s books and it really proves that no one knew sid better than him. and the way he described him just made me so sad. poor sid. he had so much to live for and had so much potential. drugs can really just take away the life out of people so quickly. may he rest in peace though

Sometimes I can barely stand looking at photos from the 1978/9 period, when drugs really took over. Maybe, had Sid lived in a healthier environment (he had a pretty tough life right from the beginning) we would have seen less of his self-destructive side. One can only wonder....Much love for Sid, always.

what do you think sid would be doing if he were here today?

Oh, that is a nice question! If Sid were alive, I think he would be a well-rounded artist. I could definitely see him experiment with being an actor. I think his personality would be fit for a Quentin Tarantino movie :) In this imaginary scenario, I also think he would be involved in animal rights activism.   Thank you for your question.
