fucking sobbing over how kind and empathetic the male protagonists in the ace attorney games are to children, even when they have absolutely no reason to go the extra mile aside from it just being the humane thing to do. and the approach between someone like phoenix vs edgeworth is so different too and not only is heartwarming to watch but really telling about their characters. phoenix is very much a “you can have an extra scoop of ice cream cause you’ve had a rough day” kind of girldad whereas edgeworth is an “i’m going to guide you gently, yet firmly for your own sake” approach and i’m just generally INSANE!!! IM CRAZY!!!!

like in the case of investigations 2 specifically with edgeworth and eustace, YES obviously the eustace mind chess scene is a standout but EVEN BEFORE THAT POINT, in spite of how annoying edgeworth found the kid, there are still these little moments where he takes a brief second to reassure him that he’s not out to make him look bad or make fun of him. and like!! he never has to say stuff like that before the mind chess scene! no one would bat an eye if his only feeling towards eustace was “ughhh this kid sucks” until he learns more but!! no!! he recognizes that he’s just a kid in spite of his own emotion and he allows himself to give eustace brief moments of relief even when he’s actively kinda ruining edgeworths life. and i’m FUCKING INSANE!!!!!!!
